Ever got frustraded over those RPGs that gave you wings as an accessory, ornamental, not quite useful you know? Ever dreamed about a RPG that would rock your mind with stunning graphics and personalization options? Tired of not being able of being a Sorcerer because it only has female options, or not being able to be a warrior, because there is only male options? Well... I got a solution for your problems...
Aion RPG by NCSoft
Released on September 22nd of 2009, Aion it’s a truly-free RPG of stunning mechanics and graphics. NCSoft, the famous behind games like Blade and Soul and Lineage II are also the developers of Guild Wars 2, Master x Master and Wildstar. The Korean company known by excelence in their work, not as just building this game but by also making their clients the own soul of their games.
Q&A:
Q: Truly-Free, what do you mean?
L: Aion it’s not a paid game, it’s a download free and play free. You do have the option of buying their credits (NCoins) that can be used inside game aswell as other credits of the game itself like Luna Coins and Prestige Coins, but they provide no such huge advantage, everything a paid player can buy, you can also acquire for free inside the game. The most influent currency inside the game it’s the free gold called Kinah, wich moves the market in Aion.
Q: But paid players DO get an advantage don’t they?
L: I am not gonna lie, they do. The only difference between a paid player and a free player it’s, that the paid player will get things faster. But the items of the game can be acquired with free gold, inside a Item Broker (Auction) or Special Quests, Morphing or Crafting.
Q: What are the game classes?
L: Aion has six classes at his total, and all of them has both male and female options;
Warrior
- Divides into Gladiator or Templar
Scout
- Divides into Ranger or Assasin
Mage
- Divides into Spirit Master or Sorcerer
Priest
- Divides into Cleric or Chanter
Muse
- Can only transform into a Songweaver (New classe of Muse will be added into the game along with new features of the 5.5 Update)
Technist
- Divides into Gunsliger (DPS) or Aethertech (Tank/DPS)
And the game it’s also divided in two factions, wich follows the game story;
Asmodians
- Dark Angels/Daevas
Elyos
- Angels/Daevas (Basic Bitches)

Q: What about character creation and personalization?
L: Very, VERY complex, complex like The Sims shit. You have tons of sliders, templates and options. Each of the six classes of the game has options for both genders and templates goes as you choose your character style;
Cute
- Goes for childish, small and delicated toons.
Young
- Goes for young adults, based in a 18-25 aged person.
Special
- That’s for you who like those brutal little dwarfs that looks like vikings,true vikings, strong grandpas/grannies or just different, odd, peculiar toons.
The Character Creation of Aion has tons of sliders, skin texture, color, lip color and even an heterochromia option! (heterochromia it’s a genetic phenomenon where the human or animal born with eyes of different colors, it’s most likely to happen in animals, for an example when you see a Husky with a blue eye and a brown eye.)
Q: What about the wing thingy?
L: Yes, my fellows, the moment you all mostly expected, in Aion, IT IS possible to fly.
Q: WAIT, FLY? LIKE, FOR REAL?
L: YES MY FRIEND, FLY LIKE A BIRD SET FREE! *playing Sia on the background* In Aion, when you achieve level 10 (wich you can do it in 30-40 minutes like, fuck, that’s easy) you are given the gift of converting to a Daeva (angel-like creature), and BOTH factions can become a Daeva, Asmodian and Elyos. But unfortunately it has limitations. In Aion the PvP can normally happen outside of arenas, and on maps. YES, same maps of questing, farming and doing stuff. So to that reason, that are special locations where you can fly, the ONLY map where you can PvP while flying it’s called the Abyss.Or... Some Arenas.
It also has time;
After getting the ability of spreading your pretty wings and flying away, you have a clock of 1 minute to fly around and land safely, if your times runs out and you’re not in a safe distance, you fall and die.
Q: Will I lose my level if I die?
L: Duh.. No. You will ressurect in a “Bind Spot”, wich is a territory where you binded with an Obelisk, you can bind to places along your journey.
It has only one penalty, when you die, it causes Soul Sickness. For 1-3 minutes it slows down your movement speed, and it can takes a little of your XP (normally 1-2%) and it can be recovered by a Soul Healer.
Q: Can I increase my flying time?
L: YES, and for FREE!! Along your journey you will receive a “Wing Feather”, wich is basically wings, it will change the appereance of the original one and increase your flight speed, time and even your HP and other stats. It can be acquired through quests, events and instances, and equiped and removed like an usual gear/equipment. BUT, there is also Wing Feathers that are ONLY for appearance, that means that they don’t add stats, they’re only used to change style of your wings.
