#Repost from @art_institutes: We could not be more excited to show off this feature that @aiatlanta and lead Ai Atlanta fashion faculty @octaviusterry have been working on! Octavius and our #AiAtlanta student designs were featured on the COVER of the September issue of @simplybuckhead magazine, as well as a cover story feature spread! This all came to vision and fruition after Joanne Hayes, owner of Simply Buckhead Magazine, attended and sat front row at our March Fashion Premiere Show as special guest of our #AiLive host @fashionado. Joanne then reached out to us for this then potential opportunity, stating she was unaware of such talent existing at our school, “Unless I had seen the talent at the fashion show, I don’t think any of this would have been possible.” After lots of planning and rearranging a “normal shoot” due to the pandemic, our chosen Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing students were able to not only be featured in a magazine, but also experience all that goes into a project like this – the preparation, planning, work, and then the shoot itself / the culmination of their work --- and then showcase their designs and collection pieces in a huge publication! We are proud that we are able to provide our students with such elite hands on experiences while still in school. On the day of the shoot in early August, Ai Fashion Faculty Leader, Octavius Terry states, “As my Wardrobe Assistants met me at my home, we knew that the photoshoot was going to be magical. The photoshoot was being shot at the illustrious Greenberg-Traurig Law Firm, located in Buckhead, Georgia on the rooftop of the open glass skyscraper at the Atlanta Terminus Building. Although during a pandemic that required all of us to wear face masks, for the entirety of the 7 hour shoot, we were blown away by the teamwork of all of the partners to make all the shots something to remember.” We are so #AiProud of you! #AiLive is thrilled to welcome @ai_dallas alumnus and now designer, Johnathan Hayden to our show THIS Monday (Labor Day) September 7, 2020 at 1:00pm EST... 🎓 @Johnathan.Hayden graduated from #AiDallas in 2012 with his Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Fashion Design. Having shown in Nice during his undergraduate studies in at The Art Institute of Dallas, Johnathan Hayden officially began his brand while finishing his graduate studies at The Savannah College of Art and Design in 2015. His work has contributed to exploring meaningful applications of technology in fashion including augmented reality showcased at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Fashion Week in Tokyo. ​ In addition to the creative direction of his womenswear brand housed in the New York City Garment District, Johnathan illustrates textbooks and assists in the creative direction of brands and presentations. This work has included award winning Inclusive Design solutions for disability at Open Style Lab and runway production for The Narativ at the NY NOW international Javits trade show.
