One Minute Briefs Advertise: Air Freshener A One Minute Brief to advertise 'Air Freshener' I opted for a more seasonal and festive ad, advertising Febreze's special Air Effects range.
Febreze "Our Goal is To Facilitate the Complete Denial of Reality"
The new Febreze ads emphasize Frebreze's ability to "completely mask the perception of your bleak, grim reality©".
Febreze is revamping its brand with a new campaign to "facilitate the complete and totally denial of reality". Brand spokesperson Lucy "Sunflower Breeze" Shapiro says this shift marks a change from their previous goal to help people remove odors from their furniture and clothing, to "an all out assault on the unpleasant sensory perceptions that might motivate a person to take out the trash or actually wash their laundry."
"We have been under the yolk of the oppressive influence of unpleasant smells and that ends today", Shapiro told reporters. Adding, "We are trapped by our senses, we have been slaves to the visceral sensation of disgust at the sight and smell of a room filled with used diapers and old fish wrappers. But we will not kowtow to the demands of the nose, nor will we sit idly by while our sense of smell encourages us, nay, demands we evacuate a home saturated in cat urine and the detritus of so many late night Home Shopping Network purchases. We are Americans, and we will not be swayed by something so trivial as our own sensation of the world."
A new Febreze ad focuses on their most coveted demographic, Hoarders. As Febreze makes moves to expand their signature line of odor eliminating products, they also have plans to eliminate other senses, including sight, taste and sound. "Yes, we started out just trying to annihilate unpleasant smells, but we've seen out consumers want more and we are answering that call", says Proctor and Gamble CEO Chad "Plug-Ins" Gample. The new products include; "Febreze Ear Effects": selectively sound proof earphones that eliminate unpleasant sounds like a baby crying or someone telling you a legitimate grievance; "Febreze Affects Effects": a spray that when absorbed on the skin eliminates unpleasant affective or emotional sensations, like the shame of not taking care of a crying baby, or the sadness at losing a friendship due to a lack of response to a legitimate grievance; And "Febreze Taste Effects": a cream that when placed on the tongue makes all foods taste like Taco Bell's Doritos "Cooler Ranch" flavored Tacos Locos. "We're excited about this opportunity to give people even more ways to deny not only their own reality, but the consequences their denial has on other people", Gample told Hill Of Thorns. So far the new products have tested extremely well with young men ages 18-26, Wall Street Executives, LA housewives ages 45-56 and the US House and Senate. "We've found these groups are most predisposed to wanting to block out the world around them and their effects on it. We've given them the option to replace those with Febreze effects which, while they don't make a permanent change certainly help the user feel like they've done something, and isn't that the most important thing of all."
