Been pondering for ages if the Air Bender's clothes are made from shedded bison fluff. What say you?

A quick summary of the reblog chain:

Air Nomad clothing was definitely made from sky bison wool.

Air Nomad children likely learned to spin wool into yarn with a drop spindle as a way of keeping them focused and refining their airbending.

Any yarn made by Aang would sell for a disgustingly high price.

@yetanotherknitter was able to calculate that Appa would probably shed about 120 pounds of underfur (aka soft fur) every spring.

Finally, there are five types of traditional Tibetan wool-based fabrics that vary in coarseness, so there's a solid basis for the Air Nomad's textile customs and legacy.

what if the ages of the Adult Gaang in The Spirit World are how they see themselves?

💙 Sokka feels a little younger than he actually is;(maybe) before the war because he doesn’t have his warrior wolf pony.

🧡 Aang, at least in the Spirit World, still feels like the scared little boy who ran away from his responsibilities

💚 Toph is a baby because she hardly grows up ever. she is always chasing what fulfils her.

🩵 Katara is an elderly woman; logical, growing past her mistakes, & looking forward to the future of Republic City

❤️ Zuko is an elderly man; makes sense because he’s had to grow up fast due to his family circumstances. Iroh has influenced his nephew with older, wiser proverbs as well

In the new avatar movie Aang seems to be wearing animal wool/fur which comes as a shock knowing his stance on all life being sacred and his no need for warmth as seen in the series. However looking more into the design I don’t think it’s ooc or going against his culture. The texture is thinner and “smaller” while the water tribes’ is more brawler and puffier. Aang’s not abandoning his culture he’s maintaining it while appreciating his partner’s heritage. More than likely this is Appa’s sheds being utilized to replicated something entirely new. (which he has done before)

Also It was never stated in the series that Aang doesn’t wear fur because of whatever reason that’s a fandom thing..

It's kinda funny how people will attack the Air Nomads almost the exact same way that people do the Jedi order. But when thinking about it more it's not so funny cause both groups are so similar (probably cause they're based on the same concepts and principles) and how people get weirdly angry at emotional regulation and peaceful view points.
