this sounds sad and kinda mean, but iorveth doesn't really serve an independent purpose in the novels. the main scoia'tael commander is isengrim faoiltiarna, and since he's also a higher rank than iorveth in the vrihedd brigade, he's who we hear about the most. iorveth will probably be name dropped a few times because he is one of the most powerful aen seidhe, but i don't think he'll make an in person appearance *cries*.

i know, i tried finding my oc list and adding tags to their names but Tumblr ate my tags… and that’s not the first post they’ve done me like this one 😑 but i’ll be answering for my main three: fjorisa, remayah, and elrina (i would answer for eliana, but i really haven’t gone through her playthrough yet and i like to go with the flow so! i’ll stick to the three i have). answer under the cut bc it for long! thank you sm!!! 💖💖

1. What is their background and backstory, summarised into a paragraph?

fjorisa: daughter of a bandit chief and one of his clan members, fjorisa has always known trouble. their camp was mainly outside of riften, bc of their ties to the thieves guild, but would move around skyrim for opportunities. so, it was really no surprise when she got caught in the imperial ambush and arrested.

remayah: an orphan from Blacklight, remayah only learned to rely on herself. after getting caught up with a lot of trouble in Morrowind, she took a ship to windhelm in hopes of beginning again.

elrina: daughter of nobles in Valenwood, she departed to Skyrim after a Thalmor coupe killed her family and destroyed her home - with only herself, her twin sister, and an estranged brother in Skyrim left. she was arrested by the imperials for the crimes of her manic twin, whom she was identified as being.

3. How do they feel about being Dragonborn- does they identity feel right for them and did they embrace it immediately? Do they consider themselves a true dragon?

fjorisa: her finding out about her dragonborn status was honestly the only time she felt… alive. like, her life had meaning. being a dragonborn is the only thing that makes sense to her about herself, and as such she accepted it quickly. fjorisa is about as dragon as a human can get.

remayah: it didn’’t completely,,, click at first, but the destiny behind being a dragonborn feels real. it gives her a sense of belonging, of importance. it still took awhile for her to completely embrace it. the more she connects with being a dragonborn, the more of a dragonborn she becomes - if that makes sense.

elrina: she,,, doesn’t accept it. at all. the dragons are a completely foreign subject and she doesn’t know how to feel about her soul literally being a dragon. she rejects the idea, and her destiny. takes to drinking, and other quests to keep her mind off it. but, bc it’s destiny, she keeps finding her way back to being dragonborn. she doesn’t like to admit it, but she’s definitely a dragon.

7. How much do they utilise the power of Thu'um? Do they actively try to expand their inborn abilities through research and exploration? Or are they less invested?

fjorisa: as much as possible. maybe bc she’s a Nord, but she connects a lot to the cultural aspects of the Thu'um. she expands her knowledge on it as much as possible. paarthy expects weekly visits from her.

remayah: it’s a skill that isn’t on her priority list, but she does like to learn about the Thu'um. she naturally curious about all subjects of supernatural elements. she experiments with it in her free time, or when she gets drunk enough to brave through learning something new with the skill.

elrina: she definitely follows the greybeard’s and Jurgen Windcaller’s philosophy of the pacifistic Way of the Voice. she learns, but not to destroy and such. she’ll experiment in the company of the Greybeard’s.

17. What’s their style- do they tend to wear armour and if so, what sort? Otherwise what’s their average day-to-day clothing?

fjorisa: master thieves guild armour and the aetherium crown. she,,, doesn’t get the concept of fashion. when she ascends the social ladder, she relies on Elisif for fashion advice.

remayah: anything light. fur, leather, or hide while adventuring. day to day she wears miners clothes bc she can’t stand dresses.

elrina: fur armor all the way. it reminds her of home. day to day wear she definitely likes to wear noble, expensive clothes.

Aaaah, thank you!  Let’s go with Lyris here - she’s the most developed of my (three) Dragonborn.

1 - What is their background and backstory, summarized into a paragraph?

When she was around six years old, Lyris’ mother sold her into the care of House Telvanni as an ‘indentured servant’ for a supply of Hist sap.  Lyris grew up being shunted from mage to mage, mostly running errands, mostly growing cold and aloof, until her talents (at clearing out ruins and gathering supplies) landed her with the new Telvanni Mistress, Aramea Drothan.  Aramea sensed an odd sort of magicka in Lyris - the budding ability to Shout, though neither of them knew it - and kept her around, grew close to her, and eventually made her immortal just before the eruption of Red Mountain.

Yeah.  She’s over 200 years old by the events of Skyrim.  And she’s still Aramea’s girlfriend.

3 - How do they feel about being Dragonborn?  Does the identity feel right for them and did they embrace it immediately?  Do they consider themselves a true dragon?

Lyris thinks it’s great.  She finally gets to have some cool magic, man!  The label of ‘Dragonborn’ fits her like a glove, and she loves being able to shape the world around her, since so much of her life was the world shaping her.  The moment the Greybeards called, she was up that mountain with only a letter to Aramea explaining why she’d be away a bit longer than planned.

However, she keeps the persona of the ‘Dragonborn’ separate from that of ‘Lyris,’ because she doesn’t think it would be good politically for Skyrim’s legendary Dragonborn to be aligned with the Telvanni of Morrowind.

10 - Which factions are they aligned with?  Including civil war sides, Thalmor, guild, etc.

Only the Telvanni, really, and she distances herself from them when she’s playing the part of the Dragonborn.  She’s learned too much about politics from the cutthroat Telvanni house to ever feel comfortable aligning herself with any guild, for fear they’d try to take credit for her actions.  (Aramea’s stories about the impartial Nerevarine, who she met as an apprentice, also contribute to this.)

26 - Which follower(s) would they never go anywhere without?  On a personal level, what is their relationship with the follower(s) in question like and why do they stick with them?

Aramea isn’t a follower, because I’m too lazy to use the Creation Kit, so that’s unfortunately not an answer.

Lyris is heavily based around the Tel Nalta mod, as her reason for coming into Skrim was to set up an outpost for Aramea to join her away from the ash of the Red Year.  So if she uses a follower, it’s likely one of the ones from Tel Nalta if she needs some extra firepower beyond what her axe and shield can provide.  Other than that... She’s actually not a fan of followers.  Long years handling herself alone in Morrowind have left her uncomfortable about traveling with other people.

thank you so much for your series on witcher's worldbuilding!! as i dip my toe into writing witcher fanfic, i'm realizing how abysmally little i understand the political, etc. side of the franchise and the wiki has been basically no help at all! looking forward to reading more :)

fjoara: nord ldb, former member of the thieves guild, and eventual high queen of skyrim by birthright. teldryn sero is her husband. loves horses, fancy clothing/armor, sweets, and being outside. very smart, but so naive, and basically just a ball of anxiety. terrible at combat besides her thu’um but hates fighting anyway. she does not kill unless there’s no other choice. (hope you don’t mind i did all 3 of my oc’s!!)

morvera is my nightingale (she’s not guildmaster tho she’s brynjolf’s second in command). grew up in morrowind—don’t know a ton about her backstory yet—but she’s a nasty, nasty drunk with a horrible temper. she’s an archer and she’s honestly terrifying but she’s sexy af. she meets my ldb fjoara who helps her calm down and get her shit together and then eventually introduces her to the thieves guild. oh and she also has a bad phobia of being buried alive

ok vesta’s my hok she grew up on a farm in the gold coast. her parents were both killed by bandits, leaving her orphaned @ 16. she’s lived a nomadic life and has friends in all the major cities. she’s super feminine, loves flowers and animals, is a very skilled seamstress, and she’s a FIERCE warrior. seriously don’t mess w her. after martin—whom she fell in love with—died, she kind of lost her shit and went to fight in the arena until she’s called to serve as the divine crusader.
