what are your thoughts on season 2/ hopes for next season (if we get one, fingers crossed)? I read that season 3 might take place during the summer and be about Malibu Sands Resort
season 2 was so good!! i love that there was a serious conversation about lexi, but it wasn't treated as an inclusion™ thing, but rather she was given the ability to talk about how this is the most natural she's ever felt, but she feels like she's different because of it.
also jamie's growth was everything!!! he recognized that mac likes daisy, he was supportive when lexi was trying to decide whether or not to talk about being trans and that when she wasn't ready to say "i love you", and he comforted his mom about the divorce. i also like that he was able to be insecure too. everything's changing for him, and it's easy to forget that since he's the one supporting everyone else through their struggles.
and aisha!!! queen!! her storyline with being bi, losing her sport, and her struggles in spanish class were so relatable. she spent the entire season finding herself and she ended it as an amazingly happy young woman and i’m so proud of her!!!
and devante trying to figure out who he is as he dates a rich girl was a really great way to continue the age old “lovers from different classes” trope. he and aisha also had an adorable friendship.
and mac growing into himself with help from daisy makes me so happy.
also most importantly i love that the og characters were growing too. people don’t stop growing and changing after high school, and this was a great way to carry on plot points from the original series and use them to strengthen the characters.
as for season 3, the malibu sands resort would be a great setting since it would be in the middle of zack/toddman’s campaigns for superintendent and that’s bound to be hilarious. also daisy’s birthday would be then and jamie and lexi would realize that mac was lying about lying.
