the thing about being "good with kids" is all it takes is literally just not trying to control and mould them with every interaction. it's just being a normal person and engaging with them through normal interactions like having conversations and playing games. it's just being genuine and friendly and not perceiving them as lumps of wet clay you are there to shape. "oh you're so good with kids" thanks it's because I think they are people
CLUELESS (1995) Dir. Amy Heckerling
@giftober 2025 | day 14: first time (in anything) ➛ anne with an e 3x10 “the better feeling of my heart”
"It seems inconceivable that he is gone. I had our entire lives planned. I thought I knew exactly what the future held, and now... It was only a headache. How could a headache take my husband away? For days, all I could think was how it is not fair. John was a good man. He deserved a better fate, a longer life. But that is not how I wish to remember him. It is quite something to spend your entire life feeling like you are somehow out of place. And then to meet someone who understands you before you even say a word. Someone whose singular qualities match your own. Whose kindness makes you feel warm. Who can read your mind from across a whole room. John was more than my husband. He was my truest friend. And I may ache at present, but… The good John brought into my life, that bond, that understanding, love, far outweighs any pain I feel right now. I would not change it. For anything." — Francesca Stirling
"He adored your Francesca. I will never forget when he came home the night they met. Stars in his eyes." — Janet Stirling to Violet Bridgerton
god imagine being a normal server at cafe contigo. first the owner’s son’s famous baseball player best friend is a murder suspect who gets outed in the investigation and winds up on national news. then once that’s over one of the other former suspects starts working there. her sister’s engagement party to the lawyer that exonerated them all gets bombed by a guy who was working with both siblings of yet ANOTHER one of your coworkers. then a third coworker, who has been living a false identity this whole time, kidnaps the second coworker and ties her up in her apartment—twice—and then shoots the guy who committed the original murder (her secret half-brother) before running away. also every single person involved in this shitshow plus their whole family and all their friends are regulars at that cafe and they routinely commandeer giant tables to talk loudly about their illicit investigations. how would you not spend your entire shift eavesdropping. no wonder bayview had like thirty gossip pages revolving around one group in particular
Mysteries are everywhere. And who knows? Sooner or later, I'm sure one of them will lead me back here.

noah kahan's the great divide is like. what if you died and came back wrong but the "death" was you leaving your hometown and the "came back wrong" is the change in the way everyone, including your own parents, perceives you even when you do return and the relationships that have been soured by your absence
rereading point mouette as an adult is so funny cause as a kid any attempts at foreshadowing completely went over my head and all of a sudden i can see it and it's like every other page
thinking about skye penderwick studying astrophysics in california……skye being away from her family for the first time. everyone so proud of her and so happy for her, thinking she’ll finally have the space to be who she is. skye finding that that space she dreamed of is maybe more lonely than she thought. her family doesn’t call much because they don’t want to bother her, only with the exception of ben, who needs skye’s advice on the science of his sci-fi film ideas (at first he went to iantha for this, but found her answers lacking excitement, as she’s bored of most action in movies. skye on the other hand is happy to hear about his space battles and explosions and stuff). skye never tells ben but sometimes it’s the highlight of her week.
but skye being so thrilled to study uninterrupted. staying up all night when she’s in the zone. i bet she gets adopted by multiple kind roomates over the years who sort of take her in like a stray cat, leaving food by her door when they learn her habits of working so long and forgetting to eat. i bet she meets friends who help her chill out. i bet she goes out just to end up in a drunken heated debate over dark matter theories or something nerdy like that with her academic rivals. she finds new things she loves: bands, fashion, maybe she tries out other pronouns. skye finding themself a little.
jeffery visits and they go to the symphony. i bet they play something by saint-saens and skye is actually kind of moved by it. they walk out and she grabs jeffery by the shoulders like, dude, i think i get it. why you’re obsessed with music. that made me feel something like i feel stargazing. jeffery grins and they hug and there’s so much love and it’s not the slightest bit romantic.
visiting home around christmas skye asks jane to cut their hair. jane is simultaneously ecstatic and terrified to mess it up. it ends in skye yelling JUST CUT IT OFF and it’s the middle of the night and it wakes everyone up. it looks terrible but iantha is able to patch it up a bit.
skye continues to tutor other students and becomes really well respected as a knowledgeable effective teacher. she has a good community.
maybe even including some european man. but they don’t get married lmao
you dont get how refreshing anne of green gables is like yes sometimes you really must imagine there are dryads combing their hair in the woods and little girls in the cupboard who love you and places called the lake of shining waters and lovers lane and be glad you live in a world where there are october’s and be full of love and wonder and whimsy and imagination

you should get a second evening for reading fan fiction. And you should get an extra day in the week to do arts and crafts.
