This popped out of me today.
Happy Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week
I like Veilguard.
I don't like Veilguard as part of the Dragon Age canon.
I reconciled the dissonance in my head by calling it an AU; like someone at Bioware's fanfic that wasn't ever meant to actually be part of the main story.
My spouse proposed that it's one of Varric's books, complete with heroic self-sacrifice, but still managing to narrate the whole thing.
Ever since, I haven't been able to unsee that. It explains why the backstory for your heroes is barely touched on (and generic), why the Divine is unchoosable (despite the Chantry being a major influence in Antiva), why the art style is so very fucking different, why the storyline just doesn't make sense after Trespasser, and so many other things.
*sigh*
First projects are supposed to be wonky. First projects are supposed to be wonky. First projects are supposed to be wonky. First projects are supposed to be wonky. First projects are supposed to be wonky. First projects are supposed to be wonky.
It's cotton, so I'm calling it a dishcloth. 😜
So I had a bug with my first run of Inquisition, on the Playstation... Solas' fade sequence never popped up. 😭 and I didn't have a good save to go back to.
So I just created a new Inquisitor and tried again, making sure to save immediately upon finishing the sword cutscene.
Sulahna Lavellan... actually just finished the deep roads and don't think I managed to take a single screenshot. Dagnabit. I'm not redoing it.
It is done!
Started in August of last year with mom's leftover balls of blanket yarn, of various sizes, taking assorted shoulder breaks but it is done.
Aisteach Tries New Foods
So I saw this thing on the photo app, where someone was spinning a wheel to try new foods & that sounded like fun, so I copied someone's wheel of Countries of the World and turned it into Foods to try.
The first country that popped up was the Dominican Republic, which lucky me, I was just over in the city this weekend with access to more than Safeway or my little local grocer (love 'em, but for local stuff) and had happened to pick up some green plantains because the younger kiddo was interested in how green ones are vegetables & ripe ones are fruit (nutritionally speaking) and we've only ever had ripe ones.
So I'm going to make some Dominican style Mofongo and see how this goes. (I'll reblog with the results).
