BLUSHES,, THAMK YOU ANON !!!! ! !! ><
art is a skill and it really comes down to developing that skill with practice and intentional study :3 uhmm, idk where to start really because there is a lot to touch upon in improving art!! but here are things that to me, boost your work by a lot once you get a hang of them!
gesture drawing - this isn’t just drawing from life, but it’s learning how to add to it! it’s learning how to exaggerate proportion and movement in order for a piece to feel more lively
values - for me, the way someone knows how to control the values is the BIGGEST indicator of a skilled artist! a lot of artist mistake this problem as an issue of their color choices; a good way to check your values is to have a white layer in the “color” blending mode to see if it is still visible and readable
composition - doing master studies of classical paintings and dissecting their compositions is a good place to start because these artists are confined in the limitations of realism, so they create memorable, striking, mind-blowing pieces by telling a story with the elements they place
design - i don’t know how to describe this, but this playlist of videos by Sinix will!
You can also shoot me a dm if you want constructive criticism! As always, use reference and don’t forget that it will take time :] at the end of the day, you are in charge of how “”good”” you want your art to be. what truly matters is that the work you make makes you happy and is true to what you want to express. art is at its best earnest :3
