What BNHA Got Wrong: Actions and Consequences

Hoo boy... this fucking topic.

Actions and consequences are a rather simple concept, do something and expect something to follow up whether it be something good or bad. Very simple right?

Well in BNHA... it's completely twisted.

For example: Shota Aizawa and just how he acts overall.

This man literally plays god with the fate of his student's future in UA and has the fucking audacity to be all

"You all lost my trust and now you'll have to work on earning it back."

And then there's the way he treats Izuku as a whole when Bakugou is literally a walking red flag. It's fine if Bakugou goes around calling people mean nicknames and yelling die every ten seconds, but it's wrong for Izuku for not knowing how to control his quirk that he literally got a few days ago and for "supposedly" agreeing to fight with Bakugou after curfew.

Oh, and the guy's also a hypocrite for getting onto All Might for playing favorites but does it with Shinsou over his entire class.

Now none of this would be a problem if someone actually called him out on his bullshit and hypocrisy and be like

"Hey! You're kind of going against your own logic you placed and haven't done shit for this class."

But... nobody does. They literally treat him like he's this super genius that has done so much for these kids and is a second parent to them when in actually, he's a bum that sleeps most of the time.

Then there's Bakugou... do I even need to explain?

But one thing I WILL talk about regarding him is the difference in how people say

"Well he lost the Licence Exam and died in the war! Those gotta count as consequences!"

No, not really.

Those would count more as KARMIC consequences than something directly linked to the horrible stuff he's done.

Not ONCE do any of the characters call either of them out for their actions nor do they face any consequences for their actions, but they're PRAISED and looked upon fondly where the characters that DO face consequences doesn't deserve it.

I.E Izuku with the House Arrest and Sero with the final exam.

I hate when you can tell how young a fandom is. MHA for instance is so full of youngins and their views of black and white mentality.

If I see another quirkless vigilante Deku and All Might bashing on my feed imma scream.

Was All Might supposed to tell this quirkless kid who almost got killed by sludge yes you can be a hero be fucking for real.

Deku would’ve got killed by the first villain he fought come on now. He’s smart but that isn’t a quirk he’s just smart so is Bakugo and even he almost got killed by sludge with quirks.

Can you imagine Deku going up against Stain or Dabi with no quirk in what world is he surviving?

Just because he’s quirkless doesn’t make him Batman and let’s be honest Batman only wins through plot armor if Superman randomly decided to flick Batman into space because his voice was annoying him in a meeting he’d be dead.

Also bashing all might and not aizawa who was canonically an asshole is questionable. Will never understand or his mom who legit said sorry and was crying for him.

May not have been what he wanted to hear but she was being realistic parents fuck up it doesn’t make them bad parents.

The Great BNHA Review: Humble Beginnings

So! Anime! That’s something that’s been around for a long time.

And despite what less than stellar things many people believe it is. Whether they simply believe it’s for kids, they end up making people into degenerates, or just Hentai in general… It’s still a well made and even beautiful at times form of art and entertainment.

And it has brought us such wonderful pieces of shows and movies like Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Death Note, One Piece, Pokemon, Black Butler, Akira, Wolf Children, Inu-Oh, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, FullMetal Alchemist, and hell even anything made by Studio Ghibli!

The point I’m trying to make is that not all Anime is bad and it can bring forth wonderful content. And the one anime most people bring up the most is a series called My Hero Academia, created by Kohei Horikoshi.

Most people say it’s a good anime start with if you wanna get into it, it has a simple plot that most people can get behind it seems. A story about a young boy training to become a strong hero and fights many villains along the way. Simple but hey, sometimes simplicity is good.

And with that being said, let me and some of the other normal people who've been following this series for a while now just say… we deeply apologize for what this series has become. From the lack of direction, the constant inconsistencies in both story and characters, the poorly told and even sometimes harmful messages it tries to convey, to even the presence of the worst anime character to ever grace us. This series is absolute garbage.

And the worst part of all this… is that it HAD potential! It had potential to be good and tell a complex and interesting story! But it was all wasted when Hori decided to instead pander to the fanbase and keep the money flowing rather than take his time to actually figure out what he wants from his story and how to go about it.

And as the Manga is coming to an end, whatever the ending might be… whether it ends somewhat decent or just horrible like the rest of the series has been. The whole picture just shows how bad you can screw up a potentially good series.

As easy as it is to simply throw the blame of me not being able to even slightly enjoy the new OVA at Baku-ass’s feet, i realized he can’t be completely held responsible. I have to blame Kirishima and Kaminari for egging him into playing the card game (because they know by now it’ll go over SO well, what with how Bakugou is such a fantastic, sane guy! Hehehehe!) As well as blame Aizawa for having THE REAT OF THE STUDENTS be punished for BAKUGOU’S behavior. Of course, a special thanks to Bakugou for of course being the fucking mood killer of the OVA, as he usually is in just about every single one.

(Sorry if you didn’t see the OVA yet. Then disregard this.)

Even though I haven't seen the full OVA, I was able to see some clips of it on Tiktok.

But what you said is completely right.

Kaminari and Kirishima should know at this point, if they involve Bakugou, SOMETHING'S gonna blow!

But also... WTF AIZAWA!? Just because SOMEONE wants to be a sore loser the whole class has to be punished? It would only make sense to punish only Bakugou but if the golden boy can't have fun, no one can!

This can be some good fanfic material where the class is upset at Bakugou for being a mood killer and decide to form a secret club to play these games away from suspecting eyes of Aizawa.

Blaming Kids for Shit Beyond Their Control... WTF Hori?

So this post was inspired by another post when @sapphic-agent answered an ask by @nutzgunray-lvt about Victim Blaming and how people in BNHA seems to think it's 1-A's responsibility to be people pleasers to "make up" for the trouble they caused.

Uhh, excuse me?

What trouble DID they cause?!

Getting stuck in situations that weren't any of their faults?

Getting injured and even traumatized during those events?

Hori, I have to ask... have you ever met another person? Or even see how others act when a group goes through some shit? Because I can tell you they would NOT blame the group for being in the center of shit that just happens to them!

People are not this stupid and ignorant when it comes to this kind of topic Hori!

Sure there might be some assholes that might try to victim blame, but most of them would try to be sympathetic and reassure them that everything will be okay!

They WOULDN'T be acting like they CHOSE to go any of that just to get popular and as far as I know, none of them ever talked about the shit they went through would probably get them more recognized!

Fuck Aizawa for letting it happen and just letting others talk shit about 1-A!

Fuck the stupid-ass people blaming for getting in situations that was beyond their control!

And fuck the writing for NEVER going deeper into this and having the kids call this shit out!!

Dadzawa stans be like: Aizawa is the best father figure for Izuku, look how kind he is to Izuku.

Reality: Aizawa never showed any desire to help Izuku have better control over his quirk, always sleeping, instead of teaching his students, he keeps calling Izuku by this ridiculous nickname (Problem Child) and even Dadzawa stans insist that it's cute, instead of punishing Bakugou for countless actions against Izuku, he simply lets the bomb boy do whatever he wants and shows that he has favoritism in Bakugou, besides of course Shinsou, who is not even his student.

But guess who the characters are that Dadzawa stans insist on demonizing?

Oh I already know this answer to this one.

While All Might and Inko made some mistakes, they at least acknowledge them and corrected them in some way.

But apparently by the fandom's logic, if you make a mistake, you're a horrible person through and through that deserves to be demonize.

While Aizawa seems to have no mistakes to be given the same treatment and because of pretty privileges.

There is post by @astriddestelle where they said that the fandom seems to be pretty young for its black and white mentality on things.

I'm sure once they start to grow and get older they'll start to take off the rose tinted glasses and see things with a more critical eye.

why do you think izuku placed dead last in the quirk assessment test? he's been shown stong enough to deadlift all might without a quirk. he's like peak physical fitness. shouldn't he have placed higher even quirkless? definitely higher than jirou, koda, kaminari, and hagakure who lack physical strength and whose quirks would be useless throughout the test. did aizawa sabatoge him??

Oh I just KNOW without a doubt that Aizawa sabotaged the scores!

It was all just to force the underdog narrative down our throats when we know he should've placed higher, even with the injured finger he should still be able to do well.

Aizawa has openly expressed that he hates Izuku for no reason other than his quirk, assuming things about him that aren't true yet barely bats an eye when Bakugou rushes to attack.

You know, for a man that claims to be logical, he sure is stupid and quick to make assumptions about people he barely knew and stick with it. And it's even more frustrating when no one calls him out on it or try to correct him about it.

I wish All Might would get onto him about how he treats these kids and not back down when Aizawa tries to say he's playing favorites, because we know he does the exact same thing with Shinsou.

If you were the journalist from the kidnapping arc, what questions would you have asked about UA, Aizawa and hus expulsion rate and Bakugo's kidnapping?

Also, how would you have responded to Aizawa's whole little speech about bakugo wanting to be a hero and is the most heroic person out there?

Hmm... this is actually a good question.

For one I would obviously not be hesitant to call them out on how they utterly failed to protect their students in not allowing them to fight from the get go, because it's just common sense to fight back against someone who's trying to kill you.

That and I would ask questions on what makes Bakugou special as he expelled others for little things, how they're going to fix this mess to satisfy the parents who're most likely going to pull their kids out because of their negligence, and how they allowed him to get kidnapped and just run off.

As for the second part about Aizawa's speech, here's how I would've responded.

"... You say this, but we have yet to see this boy be anything but heroic. Just because he wants to be a hero doesn't mean he has the right skills for it. From what we've seen of him he lacks the empathy and social side of being a hero, as he's constantly yelling and berating anyone he meets. So while there is a possibility he won't join the villains, there is still the fact that he would make a crummy hero. So tell me Eraserhead... How're you going to rectify this problem? And are you willing to take the fall and consequences that'll follow if we don't see any improvement? Both your reputation as a hero AND a teacher?"
