A Very Long Essay On Creepypasta
Not gonna link the Creepypasta Confessions since they're a neutral part, but I am going to dunk on Anon here since this is the worst critique I have ever seen.
First off, dude, this is literally anti-character development. Like you're litterally saying none of the Pastas can't form relationships because they're destined to be sad and evil forever and ever and never break or change.
Things fucking change. A few years ago, we had a competent president. Like 12 years ago, I was mildly Homophobic, and now I have a fat femboy boyfriend and plan on railing him after we watch FNAF 2.
Things change, people change.
Yeah, he could be just a Michael Myers ass killing machine but maybe he has a soft spot for Nina or Liu or someone or, and stay with me on this, HE FUCKING GROWS AS A CHARACTER.
Yeah, he might bicker and fight with the other Pastas, but that doesn't mean he can't hold a conversation or grow attached to one of them or call em a friend.
Just because they start out seeing everyone as prey doesn't mean they can't GROW or CHANGE and start seeing people more as meat.
He might fight Jeff, then some time later be shotgunning beers with him.
He doesn't HAVE to be a generic cryptid that'll naw at your toes like a rat.
Sure, yeah, fine, but what about after?
What about when someone fucks with his games? When he's forced to confront reality?
Why exactly can't he have an attachment to SOMEONE?
Even fucking Eveline liked the Bakers in RE7 and wanted a family, even if it was in a really fucked up way.
Why can't he form a relationship?
What happens if the entertainment fails and he's forced to confront reality?
He doesn't HAVE to be a sad, evil, homicidal clown forever and ever!
Yeah fucking sure, but again, what happens once she sees how fucked everything is? How evil Jeff is? How other humans besides senpai Jeff are people
There are actual people out there who have fantasized about Jeffrey Dahmer and are getting help, it'd be SO interesting to explore that kinda character arc for Nina.

Yeah maybe. But like that doesn't mean they can't get help and get along with others or trauma bond, or some shit.
They COULD get along with others if they tried or SOMETHING.
If you actually put the elbow grease in it, there are a LOT of creative ways to figure out how they could have possibly envisioned them making friends or whatever.
Have them invite someone and become a polycule or some shit idk!
Maybe that's how her journey STARTS, but it's not how it has to END.
She could learn to trust people again, to be friends with people, to be less scared of people!\
You know what? Yeah, I agree.
This trope is kinda over done.
But Christ, I feel like that one Homelander meme, cause you could not have said it in a more annoying way.
Slendy may not be a father to everyone, and that is just as cool to write about as him being a father to some of them.
2. What "Realism" SHOULD Mean.
The reason I titled the last section "Realism" and this section "What 'Realism' SHOULD Mean." is because I saw some folks praise this take and others like it, and just anti-Slendermansion stuff in general, and edgy shit for being more "realistic."
First off: No, it's not. it's LAZY.
Realism can be a very cool and amazing thing to think about when making a Creepypasta AU!
Like thinking about a respectful and realistic way to dipict Liu's D.I.D. or Toby's Tourette's and Bipolor Disorder
The logistics of the Mansion. Why Slenderman, like a billion year old Eldritch Entity, would have such a lair.
Think "This can't be done" less and more "how could this be done" MORE.
It's more creative and just plain BETTER to think like that to come up with creative ways to make things WORK.
Not to just BASH ideas for being cringe or others for liking it.
This is something that has always PISSED ME OFF as a kid, I fucking thought "no, that could work if you tried."
This is why I hate it when people say shit like this, cause it means people will see this garbage and start doubting themselves or feeling bad or being toxic.
So to anyone who wants to make a more serious AU and have the Slender Mansion in there: Go for it.
There is no canon to Creepypasta, and a lot of people tend to forget that.
There is no right or wrong way to characterize these characters or relationships.
IN FACT, None of these fucking characters have relationships.
THERE IS NO WAY TO FUCK IT UP.
The creators of Jeff the Killer and Slenderman never fucking intended for their characters to be shipped together or have a fight to the DEATH with Fall Out Boy blasting in the background.
They're not even characters when you really think about it.
Creepypasta is built on the back of headcannons and AUs, and YOU can do whatever you want with these characters.
You can write a fic as goofy, serious, disturbing, creepy, pasta, scary, horny, weird, OR WHATEVER you want!
Fuck you could even look at my first few paragraphs and go "Fuck you, Lucy." and make them evil and sad forever just to spite me, and that's okay because that's what Creepypasta is about.
