Weeds always grow back, no matter what you do. But you have to pick them anyway. Because that’s part of being a man. Part of being an upstanding human being.
But admittedly, Nagai Kei had become lazy.
He let these sprouts stretch their roots and dig deep into the soil that was his conscience. He let them comfortably plague his whole existence and leech of off every thought, every decision and every move he made. They lingered inside of his head like mud, slick against the back of his skull, and settled like sediment in a glass of water. It created a sensation -or irritation- that he could only describe as heartache. But this vexation also brought upon a sense of comfort, knowing that he could still care, still love for another besides his self.
So Nagai Kei let himself become lazy. He let the weeds that bewitched his heart thrive and flourish.
He knows he shouldn’t, but dandelions are just so pretty, aren’t they?
