Alastair Macaulay, former Chief Dance Critic at @nytimes , posted this image along his thoughts about the disservices done to the Dancers during the time of Covid. There is an attention to England, where Mr. Macaulay is from, but it’s worth noticing the situation is similar in most of the world. To suggest Artists must reinvent themselves and, bottom line, change job is preposterous to say the least. Lots may go into a conversation but Dance Companies MUST stand up for their Dancers whose lives, passion, dedication and hard work have contributed to Civilization, first, and to the Theaters and Communities wealth. Throughout the years I have always been proud to be the Artistic Director of the @ajkunbt and, during this pandemic, I am even more delighted to offer my humble services to a Company that has not forgotten its Artists.
