Gods I always forget how tired big pull requests make me feel, mentally. Depending on the work, you're reviewing like.. a MONTH'S worth of code changes in the space of an hour or two for a final signoff on whether or not you think you've covered everything and haven't left in any testing output that you shouldn't have. It's like cramming for a text two hours before you have to take it.

Could I have split this one up more than I did? Yeah probably. Unfortunately that would have been even more effort, because some of these traces reached three or four files deep and had to be fixed the whole way down, and trying to untangle what files are linked to what is.. hard.

Teaching myself my company's somewhat idiosyncratic Java code setup and I am reminded of every reason that I refused to take any Java classes past the introductory classes at college. I am DYING I hate this this has been a whole day event and I still feel like I'm muddling my way through a swamp while blind. Who designed this system. Why. Can we just Talk. I want to Talk.

Nothing quite like scrolling through a code file looking for examples of how to structure a new piece of code and finding an absolute banger of a comment from a past developer at the top of the code block you wanted to pull from.

Respect, prev, but "disgusting and hacky" are the definition of my job at this point.
