Due to the moderators’ busy schedules, this will be the first year since the creation of this blog that there will not be a formal AkaKuro Week event and it may not be the last. However, the love for AkaKuro still burns strong for many of us, hence why we still encourage everyone to create or post something AkaKuro during the 11th to the 17th of this month!
We understand that the lack of prompts may hinder process and motivation, but you are free to reuse old prompts or come up with your own! Our archives are also filled with wonderful and inspirational submissions from fans over the years.
#AkaKuroWeek2019 will still be a working tag, and any posts falling under it (given that they comply to our rules) will eventually be reblogged here.
Let’s continue to celebrate Akashi and Kuroko’s wonderful relationship!

Author’s note: I’m sorry, this was so rushed because I wanted to finish it before Akakuro week officially ends. I think I’m late by an hour (California time I think), but that’s okay. Please enjoy!
Kuroko wakes up huddled underneath his blankets, blinking in the dark for no light could possibly penetrate through the many layers of fabric piled on him. Sighing, he slowly slides a hand out of the blanket ready to pull back all the layers one by one, only to pull it back a second later, shuddering from the cold. Today, he thinks, Today, I will allow myself a sick day.
His lips form a small smile at the thought; after all, he wasn’t the type to miss a school day, which means that his teachers wouldn’t question his excuse. Kuroko thanks himself for being an attentive and punctual student and mentally gives himself a pat in the back for being a great student.
I must owl my professors my excuse. Kuroko slips a finger out of a gap in the blankets before shaking his head. Maybe much later when the room warms up. I’ll get out of bed then.
With that said, Kuroko buries his nose into his comforter and drifts back into unconsciousness.
Kuroko’s confused brain estimates the time to be around 8 am when he is harshly woken up. The first thought that comes to Kuroko’s head is to punch to perpetrator then head back to sleep, but it is completely forgotten when the blankets are peeled back and he is exposed to the biting cold air then all Kuroko can think of is wrapping his pale, thin fingers around Kise’s throat and strangling him silly.
“Kurokocchi~! Wake up! McGonagall cancelled classes for today since it’s too cold so we’ve all decided to go to Hogsmeade and hang out! Wouldn’t that be fun?” Kise chirps, letting the blankets pool around Kuroko’s waist and moving to sweep the curtains beside his bed wide open to let the sunlight in.
Wincing, Kuroko grabs a blanket and attempts to protect his eyes from the blinding rays reflecting off the snowy landscape outside.
“Go away, Kise-kun.” Kuroko murmurs, pressing his blanket-covered palms against his eyes. “This is not your house, I request that you leave immediately.”
“Kise, please leave our room.” A voice pipes up and the sound of rustling from the next bed over suggests that Midorima had just woken up. Kuroko bites his lip, amused at the annoyed snarl in the boy’s tone. “How did you even enter our house? Did you ask one of those first year girls to let you in again?”
“My two favorite Ravenclaws, you hurt me so!” Kuroko can hear the pout on the blond’s lips and he resists the urge to smile and peek out of the blanket. Instead, he presses his palms against his eyes more and tries to head back to sleep. “But no, not quite. Akashicchi brought us all here.”
Ah, Akashi-kun. That makes sense. He’s one of the only ones able to get in the Ravenclaw tower without help.
“What does Akashi want? I thought classes were cancelled.”
“Hm, not sure. I think he’s planning for all of us to go to Hogsmeade?”
Kuroko opens an eye at Kise’s words. Hogsmeade. With his favorite butterbeer and vanilla milkshake Hogsmeade? Is that the Hogsmeade we’re speaking of here?
Reluctantly, Kuroko peels back the cover and winces at the brightness in the room, eyes squinting and he resists the urge to bury himself back into his blankets.
“Hogsmeade?” Kuroko mutters and sits up. In a second, Kise is beside him with a smile too bright and too close that Kuroko ends up pushing his face away with his palm. “Personal space, Kise-kun.”
Kise laughs, his voice muffled against the palm still pressed against his face, “Yeah! Akashicchi thought that we should all hang out together.”
With a small sigh, Midorima stands up and heads for the bathroom, “I’ll go shower first then. Kise go wait downstairs. Actually, wait in the Great Hall. You shouldn’t even be in the Ravenclaw quarters in the first place.”
Kuroko drops his hand away from Kise’s face, making sure to wipe it on the boy’s shirt to get rid of any germs. Still, he wrinkles his nose at his palm and is careful to avoid touching anything with it. He’ll have to disinfect it later. Who knows where Kise’s face had been.
The boy doesn’t notice and heads out of the dorm, a bounce on his step as he calls back cheerily, “The rest of the Miracles and I will be in the common room, kay?”
The door shuts and both Midorima and Kuroko let out a tired groan. What part of waiting in the Great Hall did he not get?
The group is ready to set off at 9:30, stomachs filled with breakfast and pockets filled with coins. Somehow, their group of six expanded into a group of ten, and they all had to walk in pairs in order to fit in the pathway and leave enough space for others to walk past. Kuroko finds himself in the front with Akashi, their jackets brushing with each other every step of the way.
Halfway through their walk, Kuroko wonders how it would feel like to hook his arm through Akashi’s and bury himself into the red-head’s side in search of heat.
The thought immediately causes Kuroko to blush and bury his face into his blue scarf, ignoring the curious look Akashi sends him.
“We can split up,” Akashi says as soon as they’ve arrived in Hogsmeade. “I’ll take Tetsuya and you can all group yourself accordingly.” Leaving no room for arguments, Akashi takes Kuroko’s wrist and pulls him to the direction of the Shrieking Shack, disregarding the displeased cries from behind them.
When they’re far enough from the others that they’ve lost them through the crowd of Hogwarts students, Akashi stops and pulls Kuroko to the path for the Shrieking Shack. Kuroko himself had never believed in the ghosts or banshees that supposedly haunted the shack and he’s quite sure that Akashi didn’t believe in the myth either. So the fact that Akashi had decided to bring him to the viewing area bewildered him.
Akashi stops by the fence and pulls Kuroko in front of him until Kuroko’s near enough that he can see the specks of gold in Akashi’s eyes. He’s tied between pulling away and staying in place. After a few seconds, Kuroko’s moves to pull away when a hand caresses his cheek softly and Kuroko freezes, eyes widening at the contact.
“Come on, Tetsuya. Don’t pretend you’re not cold, I saw you earlier.” Akashi whispers and takes a part of his scarf, wrapping it over the younger boy’s own scarf. Akashi tugs it until it’s covering Kuroko’s cheeks then leans closer and brings the boy to a hug, settling his chin on Kuroko’s shoulder and burying his nose into his neck. A few seconds pass before hesitant arms slowly wrap themselves around Akashi’s form and Akashi lets out a content sigh. It’s still cold, but Akashi can’t bear to move right now.
The pair continued to stand there for a few minutes before Kuroko finally speaks up, his teeth chattering slightly. “Akashi-kun. It’s cold.”
Laughing, Akashi pulls away enough to see Kuroko’s rosy face and concludes that they should probably head inside. He takes off the rest of his scarf and wraps it around Kuroko until all that was visible was his light blue eyes. Then, taking Kuroko’s wrist, he tugs them both towards the direction of The Three Broomsticks in search of some Butterbeer, leaving nothing, but a pair of footprints on the snow.
Extra:
“I’m not sure why you even want to follow them.” Kasamatsu frowns, leaning his back on the trunk and rolling his eyes at Kise who’s currently spying at the couple from behind the tree.
“Shhh, senpai! We’ll get caught! And anyways, it’s Akashicchi! Who knows what he’ll do to Kurokocchi?”
Kasamatsu rolls his eyes at the blond’s answer and peers around the trunk only to see the two subjects hugging. It’s kind of adorable really.
Too bad, Kise’s ruining it by invading their private moment. With a sigh, Kasamatsu straightens himself and grabs Kise’s elbow. He ignores the confused sounds coming out of the blond’s mouth and instead starts dragging him towards Honeydukes.
“But, senpai. Kurokocchi and Akas-“
“Forget those two. They’re enjoying their day so we should too. Come on, I’m taking you to Honeydukes.”
Kise brightens up immediately and quickens his pace, almost to the point of dragging Kasamatsu. “What are you waiting for? Let’s hurry then!”
fin.
I hope I did well on it.. I’m not so happy with it, but I tried. I’m really sorry for not doing the other days.. I’ve been so busy with tests and competitions so I didn’t really have time for anything else, but sleep.
A/N: Omg I finally wrote something for Akakuro Week XDD Please Enjoy :D
It was silent, almost eerily so, but the faint gunshots in the back of his mind was close to comforting. His boots clacked against the sterile tiles while hoarse screams continued to play. The stench of antiseptic surrounded his senses like the overwhelming fragrance of iron.
He looked around, the hallway empty save for a couple of nurses and doctors running through. They were too busy to notice him, and immediately dismissed him when he tried to ask them, leaving him to wander around aimlessly. It was only when he saw a propped door, compared to the hallway of closed ones, that his curiosity got the better of him.
Lying on the bed was a sickly pale man, wires and tubes were abundant on his thin frame. He seemed to be asleep, but that proved to false when muddled sky blue eyes, orbs that complimented his cerulean hair, opened to stare at him.
He should have left, but he couldn’t bring himself to, leaving him to stand and return the glare with his own red ones. But then the dullness in azure eyes began to fade as tears welled in his eyes. Cracked lips moved, and even though he heard no sound, the words were clear in his mind.
You came back.
As if it was addressed to him, he stepped inside the room.
Being only a few feet away, he noticed three things: 1) the man was young, around twenty years old yet no older than twenty-five at most, 2) he was half blind with milky white covering blue eyes like a thin veil of fog, and at last came 3) there was little time left for the man.
Pulling a chair beside the bedridden man, he sat, holding a bony thin hand in his much larger one. There was a flash of surprise, and an undertone of something more, though he couldn’t specifically note it. But it all ended when the teal man softly smiled, attempting to speak once more.
“I didn’t think you’d come here,” It was nothing more than an airy whisper.
He nodded once more but didn’t dare speak. It was obvious to him that the ailing man was seeing another person in his stead. Still, he did not want to ruin the illusion, leaving the two in a calming silence.
“I remember when you suddenly decided to bring me the hot springs. You thought it would be fun to switch my milkshakes with tofu flavored water,” Clouded eyes turned the other way, facing the window. “I got very annoyed, but then you surprised me by giving me Nigou. It was to celebrate my birthday, you said. I had forgotten about it.”
For the next few hours, he continued on, reminiscing random moments out loud.
“The first time you did laundry simply left me speechless. I didn’t think it was possible for so many suds and bubbles to come out of the washing machine.”
Before the words trailed off into silence.
“We once danced in the rain when we were drunk, though we ended catching a cold.”
All before the cycle repeated itself.
“The preschoolers looked forward to seeing you visit. I did too.”
But during that entire time, he didn’t speak, nor did blue eyes turn to look at him.
It would be during these long periods of stillness that his thoughts would return to the recent bloodshed. Hundreds of miles away, and yet the battlefield still haunted him. No one wanted this, him especially, yet if it weren’t for the draft, he would have been spared from the scars of bloodied bodies.
“Do you know what my favorite color is?”
He gave the pale man a curious look, still silent, though it didn’t seem the bluenette was expecting a response, for he continued.
“Red,” And for the first time, in the past few hours, did cerulean eyes turn to meet his gaze, no, it peered past his own. Blue eyes started to glisten, “Your red was the first color I fell in love with.”
Wet drops fell onto his hand.
“But now, I won’t be able to see your red anymore, will I?”
Teal tresses gently swayed as they turned away once more.
“I remembered when you first heard what happened. You got so angry that you screamed and cried, but you kept holding my hand the entire time,” There was a gentle squeeze of his palm. “Just like this.”
“Even when I laid in bed, you said you wouldn’t forgive me. Not until I got better.”
His voice became so quiet, fading away.
“I won’t be getting better.”
Just like he was.
“And then you had to go away. So far… far away,” His breath hitched as another onslaught of tears ran down his face. “I keep waiting for you, but now... I feel so tired.”
It was swift, even for his conscious to note, but he soon found himself covering the latter’s eyes. Warm drops touched his palm as the man underneath tensed.
“Are you telling me to rest?”
There was no answer, but the sick man accepted it as such. His breaths gradually lessened as the minutes ticked by. It would only be a matter of time.
“I miss you so much.”
One last breath.
“I love you...”
He never heard the last word the dying man spoke because it was over; he wouldn’t wake up ever again.
Removing his hands from the cold body, he lowered his head, paying his final respect, before walking out of the room and closing the door behind him.
“I’m sorry for your loss.”
He turned to see a pink haired nurse behind him. A name tag was pinned to her uniform with Momoi Satsuki printed in fine font.
“I’m glad you were able to be there for him though. He was getting lonely,” She was very sympathetic, almost empathetic. “It must have been terrible, watching your friend pass away.”
“We’re not friends. We barely met,” He spoke truthfully, yet after spending the past few hours with him, that sounded more like a white lie. “I just thought that he needed someone.”
“Oh,” Momoi blinked in surprise. “That was kind of you. But then, why are you here? No, more importantly, who are you?”
“My name is Kagami Taiga,” He introduced himself before taking out a slip of paper from his pocket, scanning the lines. “I’m looking for Akashi Tetsuya. I’m here to tell him that their husband, Akashi Seijuro, was killed in action.”
Hands immediately covered her mouth as her eyes instantly widened in horror, “Oh my god...”
“What’s wrong?” Kagami had no idea what had brought along the sudden change, but it wasn’t until he followed her line of sight that he joined her despair. The slip of paper fell silently to the floor, just a bit louder than the painful thumps in his chest.
On the back of the closed door, the name Akashi Tetsuya was written in neat cursive.
-Akashi was drafted in the war
-Guess what the last word Kuroko was going to say? Hint Hint it’s a name that starts with a S
-The moment Kuroko held Kagami’s hand, he knew it wasn’t Akashi. But because he knew he was going to die, he wanted Akashi to be the last thing he remembered, which is why he spoke out loud as if he was there.
