This is just about the most 1:1 thematic parallel in the game. Music gf who just wants to make people smile set up as a major protag love interest has murder attempt in first round that reveals a previously unknown, brutal side to them, willing to deceive the people around them, and their death becomes a major motivator for the protagonists’ pursuit of truth. Even their attempted murder victims have similar visual design. The only reason Kaede wasn’t clocked as a Sayaka trial redux right away is because of the protag fakeout

Which is all to say these two have SO MUCH in common. They share work, a cheery exterior hiding a much less stable personality underneath, they have a willingness to terrible things for what they perceive to be the greater good…my god, man, they both wear hair clips. It’s hard to get more compatible than this.

This one came about because they were the two finalists in the Dangan Girls Poll. And sometimes, what more do you need in a ship than to think both of the characters are really, really neat

Ibuki’s entire life trajectory has been determined by her desire to be true to herself and her wants, and Chihiro’s entire life trajectory has been determined by fear of being true to herself and her wants. Ibuki could be a HUGE influence on the strength of Chihiro’s personal identity. And also Chihiro could rock out on synth. Mutual Growth
