this joke got totally lost in translation lol, for context the original title in jp is ハムハムと猫被り (hamuhamu to nekokaburi), essentially meaning hamham & nekokaburi.

the literal translation of nekokaburi is "to put on a cat" which, obviously, did not translate well. it is a japanese equivalent to the phrase "wolf in sheep's clothing", essentially.

the term stems from feral street cats tricking you with their cuteness. to "put on a cat" is to put on an innocent face when you're actually not quite so pleasant lol

so hamham/hammie isn't just random, because in this context they are comparing akito to a cat and kohane to a hamster! while the meaning of the word was conveyed, the joke of it got lost lol
