As they sat beside one another on their blanket in the sand, the baker gently leaned against the doctor and rested her head on his shoulder.

Through her hesitance, Edith manages to waltz through the doctor’s office with the sort of confidence that says she’s been here for years, with a kind of curiosity that’s gotten her scolded in the past. She tilts her head at the sight of the instruments on the table, and finds her fingers dusting along the handle of a scalpel.
