an hour and forty three minutes. that’s approximately how long it takes to get halfway cross town on foot, without the use of public transportation or a taxi. blue couldn’t risk the slightest possibility of anyone figuring out who he was or what he had been doing or why he was in that part of town or where he will be heading. all precautions were necessary, especially after that shitshow of a mission.
it was supposed to be a solo gig. he was confronted by a fairly wealthy man to watch over this ‘party’ he was holding at this glorious bachelor pad uptown, complete with waitors, beautiful women and cocktails. they were willing to pay handsomely for blue’s watch, so long as nothing went wrong. simple enough, though of course nothing ever worked out for blue.
as the male trudged his way up the apartment staircase, the steps creaking under the weight of his body, he released a sigh, beads of sweat streaming at the side of his face. he should have taken the mask off by this point-- he may overheat. but there was still that notion that he was being watched. couldn’t explain why, of course, though being ambushed out of nowhere may be a reasonable cause. was it all planned? was he the real target? no. don’t be stupid. you’re not THAT relevant.
at last the lanky male made it to the appropriate room, one hand fishing around his pocket for the key while the other grasped at his side, a dark red hue blotting through his clothing. he kept his breath steady. this wasn’t that bad. eventually he found the appropriate key and unlocked the door, nearly stumbling into the apartment with exhaustion and slight frustration. blue would have collapsed on the floor right there if he didn’t see a familiar figure bearing an oni mask on the couch, in which case he froze entirely on the spot. like a wild animal caught in a trap.
