Micro-labels: Ace/aro Spectrum

I. Love. Micro-labels. I’m autistic; I like to categorize things, and micro-labels make people feel less alone in specifically how they feel. Finding the right label can be a huge weight lifted off someone’s shoulders. We understand if it’s not for you and you would rather use the larger, more well-known terms, but please understand and be respectful of those who choose micro-labels. Today, I will be explaining some of the micro-labels that fall under asexual/aromantic.

Gray-Asexual/Grayromantic - This label applies to anyone who is in-between ace/aro and allosexual (allosexual being the term for people who are not ace/aro). This includes, but is not limited to, a person who only rarely feels any sort of attraction or a person who can experience attraction only on very specific terms.

Demisexual/Demiromantic - This micro-label applies to a person who does not experience attraction unless they have formed a close bond with the person in question.

Reciprosexual/Recipromantic - This micro-label describes a person who does not experience attraction until they know that the other person is attracted to them.

Akoisexual/Akoiromonatic - This micro-label, which has used the prefixes akoine- and lith- in the past, describes a person whose attraction fades once they learn that the object of their attraction reciprocates their attraction.

Aceflux/Aroflux - This micro-label describes a person whose sexual and romantic orientation fluctuates. Some aceflux/aroflux people stay within the ace/aro spectrum and some do not, but all experience it.

And my best friend did my eye makeup and rainbow highlight. So I’m wearing my Could Be Gayer shirt, leggings, new shoes that I got for my Virgil costume, and a purple and black flannel, then purple and black eye makeup and rainbow highlight (definitely Virgil inspired) and lipstick 🙏🏻💜🖤

So yesterday I went to pride in Akron and I gotta tell you, it was amazing. They were welcoming to all genders, everyone was super nice, and I just had a great time. I don't didn't meet a cute gf because there weren't any single ppl that I saw, but I did make a friend. When I got here and ginger and I were first walking around this 16 year old non binary person asked if they could pet my dog (ginger) and fuck of course you can! They were practically shaking and kept saying hope nervous that were, and they were alone, and I was alone, so I invited her to hang out with me. But everyone was very friendly and welcoming to all genders and sexualities. I would say that the best part was that no bigots showed up, but I got hugged by this super sweet trans woman in a cute pink dress. Her and her wife/gf were really nice.
