Hi there!

If you’re reading this on my person blog, you probably already know who I am. If not, my name is Ben. I’m a writer of several fantasy audio dramas that are in production. I’m the sole writer of The Guardian of the Forest, Siblings of the Shard and Hanyu.

This project is a little different than those ones. Growing up, I’ve always adored and admired shows like Avatar the Last Airbender, The Dragon Prince, Tangled the Series, and shows in a fantasy setting. While I don’t have the talent or the budget to do a show as extravagant as those, this project is still significantly bigger than my other ones.

Khali and the Ancestor Mark is going to be an ongoing series on YouTube in an animatic sort of style. With pictures illustrating most of the scenes instead of it being full on animation, and animatics illustrating the fight scenes. The story takes place in the land Florace. There’s an ongoing prophecy that has been constant since the days of old. At one point in the chosen ones’ lives, a mark of an eye will appear on the palm of their hand. This mark is called the mark of the ancestors. It is said that while one mark is a blessing and something to be celebrated, the other is a curse and an omen of a demon returning to life. This generation’s hero is (supposedly) already known. The crown prince, Alexander, found his mark at the age of ten. Khali found his mark around the same time, and was immediately feared for it. So much so that his parents cast him out, to protect themselves. Not that he could blame them. For 8 years, Khali travelled alone, in constant fear of the demon overtaking him. That all changes when he, injured and wounded is taken in by a kind healer named Apollo. Apollo explains that he’s met the prince, and believes that his mark the cursed one, not the blessing. Filled with hope, Khali and Apollo (Appa for short) decide to go find an expert in these marks, and on the way uncover the truth about the past, and a possible way to destroy the demon forever.

This blog is going to be dedicated to my progress on writing this series and the projects progress. On the way, I’ll be posting auditions for Vas and artists. I’m hoping to monetize this series so I can possibly pay you, but this is a first for me. It’s mainly volunteer based for now. If you want updates, give me a follow! Asks are open, as always.
