'Lived long enough to become the villain'

That day was today.

One for the money. KT would be the first to die. A bullet to the head would be kindest, because then he would not try to stop her, nor would he have to watch the deaths to follow. Sentimentality was a weakness, but she supposed she owed him that much.

Two for the show. Ayanami would fall next, two bullets marked for her because by then she would have been warned and would dodge the first shot. She would want revenge for KT, no doubt, and Lily could not afford delays.

Three to get ready. Three more bullets were loaded neatly into the clip, each one marked for Shin. The little Princeling was slavishly loyal to his bastard father, and the deaths of KT and Ayanami would make him enraged, careless, more inclined to make mistakes and leave himself open.

She didn’t entertain the idea of her own survival as she loaded the last four bullets into the ten-shot clip. With the deaths of the first three, there would be no hiding. He would know she was coming and she would hunt him down like the dog he was. It would mean her life, sure, but… it would be worth it to see the end of Gendo Rokubungi once and for all. She slid the clip home with a click.

"Mm," is what She says aloud. She does not say goodbye, or even 'see you later', as She kisses His cheek and quietly gets up to collect Her clothes. She considers the shower briefly before deciding that She will shower at home; if that means keeping KT's scent on Her skin a little longer, well, no one has to know Her reasons.

She encounters this world's Rei at the elevators, the bluenette stepping out of the newly arrived car just as She reaches them.

"You are leaving?" Rei asks. There is a flicker of surprise that She does not understand.

"Did you expect Him to ask Me to stay?" She asks in the same tone.

Silence is Her answer. Without another word from either of Them, Rei continues on Her way and She steps into the elevator car and allows the doors to close behind Her.
