Aside from soriku (and sorikai) ive been thinking about xemnas ships for the first time in nearly a decade, and it went from ‘haha hehe xemnas gets a replica body and now has to deal w being his own person w emotions and thoughts and morals’ to ‘xemnas clutching his chest in absolute dramatic agony bc he saw lea being nice to xion and roxas and thinks his chest is going to explode’. Its been very fun to think about in my free time, but the idea of xemnas coming to terms w…feelings…and existing for just the sake of existing and not to aid in some decades long plan…Sora is here to be a sweetpea and help in some way bc like as much as i could argue that he Wouldnt be too happy to see Xemnas, Sora does believe in second chances and always tries to encourage people who have had a change of heart.

This is a long roundabout way to say that xemnas/lea/isa is a ship ive been tentatively thinking about taking seriously, and its been a real fun process, bc i love trying to think of like. Xemnas Character Building Shenanigans…”what is this feeling…in my heart…” “isa said you did well in training so ur probably really happy to hear that!” “Interesting. I hope it happens again, then.”

I think Xemnas slowing experiencing different things and emotions is a good thing to explore, and with any nobody actually esp since we see axel and saix specifically doing the same thing. They’d be really understanding but also hold him accountable when he’d be going into bad habits and I think that’d be something interesting to explore

Pre-recompletion akuxemsai would definitely be a hot mess lmao. Xemnas and Axel would mutually hate each other's guts, and Saïx ends up with complicated (not)-love-(not)-hate relationships with them both. It starts off with him trying to figure out how to backstab Xemnas while also trying to make Axel jealous, then twists into wanting to make Xemnas jealous because he's the one giving him attention, now, and the rest of his and Axel's plans have all but fallen apart, anyway.

With post-recompletion leaxemisa, overall I think there would still be a lot of tension between all three of them, especially Xemnas and Lea. Isa's got one million guilt complexes in every direction, Xemnas and Lea blame each other for a lot, and it'd be kind of an emotional clusterfuck for a while. Given a lot of time and space and effort on both sides, though, I think Xemnas and Lea would eventually be able to put their differences aside for Isa's sake. Maybe. Mostly.

(I've also explored post-recompletion leaxemisa in a few fics actually lol: "what we may be," my Xemnas recompletion longfic, and "rule of three", a very nsfw threesome fic)

Now xigxemakusai - can I get a hell yeahhh lmao I love literally every possible constellation in this dynamic. I feel like Xigbar would actually play a great "sympathetic" ear to any of the other three (or just eavesdrop on them), so he knows more about every angle of their insane situationship than any of the others. I hc Xigbar as actually getting soft on people very easily, but he "knows better" than to try and intervene in any way that would improve their lives.

May I posit the following ridiculous soap opera:

Xigbar and Xemnas were the Original "No Strings Attached" Situationship lmao, but then Saïx enters the picture, slinking around and trying to get into Xemnas's pants for rank and power. Xemnas thinks nothing of it at first, but Xigbar nudges him towards seeing what happens with Saïx because 1) he's starting to catch actual feelings towards Xemnas and that scares him and 2) he wants to see what'll happen.

Xemnas start sleeping with Saïx, whose original plan was just to get higher footholds in the Organization. Saïx is still obsessed with Axel, but their wheels are spinning in mud, at best, and he starts having a tougher and tougher time telling where The Plan™ ends and where actually wanting to be around Xemnas begins. Xigbar keeps an eye on the whole thing since he also knows Saïx's real goals, and still acts as Xemnas's primary confidant/fuckbuddy, but he thinks there might actually be more going on between the two, now.

Axel, meanwhile, is disgusted by what Saïx has been turning into, by what Xemnas is turning Saïx into, and is torn between jealousy and wanting to just wash his hands of the whole thing. Saïx almost wants Axel to interfere, to consider him worth intervening for, but when Axel backs off, instead, it just pushes Saïx more towards Xemnas.

Xigbar is just watching this happen; he knows Xemnas now enjoys Saïx more than he ought to, he knows Saïx has ulterior motives and is relying on Xemnas because of crazy insecurities, and he knows that Axel is generally unhappy and resentful towards Xemnas and Saïx, (Xemnas especially). Like Xemnas, and arguably even more so, Xigbar knows everything is doomed to fall apart before anyone's real wishes are fulfilled, so he has occasions where he stops being entirely obnoxious and digs for conversation to get the other three to vent to him about their myriad of issues - which has also led to him getting laid by all three on separate occasions lol.

Xigbar's always the bridesmaid (with benefits lmao) and never the bride 😔 But at the same time that's where he wants to be because if there's one thing Luxu has developed over the centuries, it's an indomitable fear of commitment to anything but the MoM. Even though he's head-over-heels for Xemnas, he pushes him towards Saïx because he wants Xemnas to enjoy himself as much as possible before the end and Xigbar doesn't think he's the one to bring that.
