WHEN HE HEARS THE SOLES OF HER BOOTS making their way along the walkway, Joker prepares himself for the inevitable chatter. It ain’t as if she intimidates him, the Commander, but since her ‘rebirth’ at the hands of Cerberus, he hasn’t been entirely certain on how to approach her. Joker was the pilot with a thousand words, always at the ready. Now he just chose to pretend as though nothing happened & nothing has changed, despite the obvious lack of N7 on their uniforms, and yet, as of late, he struggled to grasp on to words. But that was simply the easiest option instead of facing the truth. With a sharp exhale, Joker swivels around in his chair to face her once she’s on that familiar spot behind him.
“HEY, COMMANDER,” he greets. A hand lifts to cover his mouth, a futile means of hiding his lips from the blue orb at his right. It popped up the moment Shepard came to a stop behind his chair. “You think that thing watches you in the shower?” A snort & he drops his hand. “I do. It’s already trying to take over my ship. Doubt privacy is something it was programmed to give a crap about. Gives me the creeps.”
“I do not invade the privacy of those aboard the ship, Jeff. My purpose is only to assist the crew when necessary.”
“YEAH, YEAH. So it says,” he scuffs, jabbing his thumb toward the glowing entity with a look toward Shepard that screams ‘get a load of this’. “So, off to blow off someone else’s kneecaps?”

THIS IS A PRIVILEGE, she's well aware of that. Having a communications technician along on uncharted territory isn't simply one unnecessary extra man on the ground, it's added stress for Shepard and the team who'd have to look out for her. It enhances Leonie's focus, makes her more determined to get her part of the job done sooner. When the homing device in her hand finally shows their destination in the next room, it's a relief. "This is it," she tells the commander.
The entire facility had been rather alien, but this room is all the more so: chock-full of electronics and even technical equipment that Leonie couldn't even begin to figure out the purpose of. "I've never seen a beacon like this before," she admits as she logs in with the console, frowning as she reads the translation of the screen through her visor, in search of what exactly the beacon had been broadcasting to; but unable to resist rambling about the specifics of it while she did. "The range of transmission is incredible — you could send a masked signal to a specific target from incredible distances. Among other things."
She turns to look at Shepard, eyes alight. "We could really use this technology, Commander."
@akuzeisms: 🎤 - Can your muse sing well? Do they sing often? If they were to stand up in front of a crowd, would they be able to sing in front of all of those people? 😖 - Does your muse have any embarrassing moments that they still think about? Do they laugh at them, or do they haunt them? 🍡 - Can your muse cook? Can they bake? How well can they do either? Do they have any kitchen disaster stories?
// hi hello i’m here to embarrass winter skldjlkjf
Your inner Weiss showed up just to embarass big sister, WOW.
🎤 - Can your muse sing well? Do they sing often? If they were to stand up in front of a crowd, would they be able to sing in front of all of those people?
Surprisingly to some people, yes, Winter actually can sing. She was classically trained by one of her tutors when she was only a young girl, although she never took to it quite as much as her sister did. When she was a child, she sang more often, but grew to be more quiet as she got older. She was never much of a performer, and the idea of singing in front of a crowd the way Weiss does would have absolutely frozen her. It simply would not have happened.
These days, her voice has changed enough that she really doesn't like the sound of her own voice when she sings, though you still might be able to catch her humming now and then.
😖 - Does your muse have any embarrassing moments that they still think about? Do they laugh at them, or do they haunt them?
...Her fight with Qrow at Beacon. She absolutely hates remembering it, and having it brought up will near immediately get her on the defensive. Her face turns bright red, too, it's... quite a sight. Beyond that, there's nothing so immediate that jumps to her mind: she can forgive small incidents from her childhood and school years as simply her being childish.
Honestly, Winter the most embarassing things that happen to her are usually the result of her own ignorance, so she isn't always aware that she's done anything embarassing.
🍡 - Can your muse cook? Can they bake? How well can they do either? Do they have any kitchen disaster stories?
Ahahaa -- no. No, Winter is an absolute disaster when it comes to cooking, and baking is just as bad. She did try, when she was younger, when she was still living at home and could visit Klein in the kitchens. Even then, she seemed utterly doomed to fail: overly salty food, burned to a crisp, small fires and other disasters.
As an adult, she still avoid cooking anything more complicated than a packaged meal. It's... absolutely embarassing for her, too. She despises how useless she is at it, but doesn't really have enough reason to try and get better.

“ We’ve long ceased finding anything. ” Both she and the old lady had agreed a while ago that Saren had been playing dirty with more than just her own team, wiped out by Turian forces but then covered up Saren and the Alliance — all to maintain the peace between races that would one day secure a human councillor at the Citadel. It came as no surprise that Shepard had hit the same stumbling blocks as they both had in trying to unmask him, if an unsettling reminder that exoneration for her seemed a long way off. Still, Bobbie had to try. “ But whatever I can do to help, I’ll do it. ”

Garrus seemed to be slowly but surely growing more at ease-- it was the virtue of real conversation between them not focused on the concept of a suicide mission. It had been tense, and heavy as it was it was still some sort of assuring.
“You know... I didn’t even know that human hair grew until I saw Doctor Chakwas cutting Adams’ hair back on the SR-1. I was so confused, I thought it was a medical procedure.” There was a slight chuckle to his voice at the confession.
“It’s personal, isn’t it? It’s your body. Does it matter if anyone else thinks it’s weird?”
A pause. “I think it’s pretty either way.”

@akuzeisms / katrina shepard “Is it bad that there are more than a few situations where I sit here, and I go, ‘I swear, if my pilot’s mouth couldn’t cash the cheques he claims on his piloting talent, we’d all be dead’? Is that weird? Dark? Do I put too much faith in you, Joker?”
"If anything, you don't put enough faith in me, commander." Joker half turned toward her, grinning cause he could tell she had been drinking. It was a rare sight. "When I have I ever let you down? As far as my piloting skills," he clarified, because that's what was on the line right now.
