Drake had not anticipated for someone to sit down across from him, hoping to just be left in solitude, but as none other than the Princess of Alabasta herself came and sat down with him, he had to at least lift his gaze up to meet hers. Would be rude otherwise.
“-- Yeah, that’s me.” he’d respond at last. “And you must be Nefeltari Vivi. Surprised that people aren’t flocking to you when you’re in public.” a bit of a smirk flashed over Drake’s features, before returning to that neutral ‘frown’ of his as he’d tap a passing-by waiter. “Saké, please.” to which the waiter merely nods and takes his order before heading off.
“As for why I’m here--” now there’s something Drake seemed hesitant about. “-- Sorry, can’t tell.”
“Your efforts will be rewarded soon enough... I’m sorry that I’m not very helpful with these types of things. Beyond the menu and security, parties like this...”
He twirls a lock of blond hair. They both agreed that it was a handful, juggling all the small insignificant decisions along with the big ones.
“I’m hoping you’ll get to meet him, the man who raised me, but he may be too busy to make an appearance.”
*removes Goucho glasses with the big nose* Yeeeeeah, @alabastaprincess !! Secret Santa stuff from @onepiecerphub!! I tried to write you a couple lil drabbles, hope you like them! Sorry if they’re a little late on your end, I’ve had a busy month.
Vivi Nefeltari couldn’t help a giggle at the look on Kohza’s face, right then. Really, she shouldn’t laugh… After all, her best friend hadn’t been all that keen on learning about the rest of the world when they were still young. But… Well, it was snow!
At the moment, the former rebellion leader was ankle-deep in the fluffy white stuff, and he looked like a small child during their first birthday party. He was marveling at the fat, wet flakes landing on his jacket, squinting, and trying to make out the delicate little patterns before they could melt away. It was honestly comical, yet so very endearing.
“They all really have different patterns, Vi?!!” Kohza muttered, poking at the large, wet flakes currently on his arm. “It’s so cold! And it must get even colder at night! How do people live on islands like this?!”
“Would you believe me if I said this is only a light snow?” Alright, Vivi more than giggled at the slack-jawed expression on the man’s face.
She always knew what she wanted. No one had ever been able to dissuade her once she decided what she wanted. They could change her paths a little, sure, as long as they could convince the princess that it would lead her more smoothly to her goal, but she would do whatever it took to reach then end she wanted. And although her duty was to her people, first…. She had a second family to tend to.
And right now, this seemed to be the best option for both.
Germa was…. A problem. A definite problem for both her people and her friends. She’d seen the resemblance the moment she had been introduced to the trio of princes. The eyebrows, the shapes of their faces…. Even their names and the missing spot in the pattern. No one had to tell her who they were, who Sanji was. But they were nothing like the cook. Nothing it all. It was no wonder to Vivi why he had gone a separate path.
Perhaps, though, getting close to one of them…. Perhaps it would benefit everyone. Niji was, well… at least to start, he was the least aggravating. They all had that habit of going head over heels for a nice looking woman, but Yonji was abrasively brutish and loud, and Ichji was annoying to talk with because of his complete ignorance and lack of interest into politics. Niji… Niji was the most tolerable of the three. He was quiet, and reserved, and certainly nothing like Sanji, but… But perhaps she could accept some of this. For peace’s sake.
Looking back now… Well, she certainly couldn’t say she regretted it.
I wanted to say that @alabastaprincess is one of the most patient and gentle people I have come across in this fandom and since I met them they have been helpful to me when I was nervous and being online for the first time in a long while. Her mun is an amazing person that makes me feel safe in a dangerous world.
“Thank you, your Majesty. It was as to be expected, which is to say entirely unpredictable.” The woman appears bemused by the oxymoron, or her memories of the voyage.
“I noticed a lot of construction when I arrived. I hope more of it is growth rather than repairs.”
alabastaprincess replied to your post: "Hey Mr. Bushido, I have that liquor for you."
“I am so glad you like it. Would you like to have a drink right now?”
Before she could even ask, he’d already uncorked the bottle and had the glass tip against his lips. Maybe he was a little ahead of the game. “Was I supposed to wait?” A beat, and he added, “Did you want some?” She’d been the one to gift it to him, after all, and he supposed downing the whole thing by himself was a little rude.
