They had been buried in a cemetery near Marineford instead of Lougetown. When he’d been younger, he had hated it. Now, though, it made the trip to see them from his post in the New World easier. With a faint grunt, Smoker sat in front of twin grave markers, silently stacking rocks.

When the Vice Admiral noticed a familiar shape from the corner of his eye, he sighed and shifted to the side. As open an invitation as it could get for Lewis to come over, as well.

Time to wake up, recruit~

It was rare to catch the Vice Admiral in this sort of just-awake state. He was a private man, and unless there for a specific reason, few people got to watch him wake up. For whatever reason the silent man was here, however, he got to see Smoker getting up first hand. Though he had probably seen it, before... Someone had to check in on the recruit years back when he’d gotten the tar beat out of him and refused to remain in the medical ward for longer than strictly necessary.
