So I saw the musical Aladdin today and I’m so happy. I got to see aspects of middle eastern culture- my culture -in so much color and enthusiasm and beauty and I have never seen representation of middle eastern people like this in my life. There were people who looked like me, danced like me, made jokes about food and names that weren’t offensive and were just genuinely funny and they were so happy doing it. I’m just amazed. I feel alive. This is so important to me I just don’t know how to react
