Pentas Mini Menjadi Sarang Merpati

New progress on Jalan Sultan backlane
I dropped by to check Jalan Sultan backlane. The new individual bins had been in place and rubbish collection is due on 10.30pm every day. I also noticed the street lights are in operation, as well as one-way alley road marking and no entry signboard. As someone who frequented Jalan Sultan, user can now detour to Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock without completing the whole journey in Jalan Sultan,…

MRR 2 turned into a rubbish dump!! - 22 December 2013, The Sun
How did we land up in this mess again?? This is due to the breakdown of the waste transfer station in Taman Beringin, Kepong. KL produces 3,500 tons of rubbish a day, DBKL pays Alam Flora 14 million a MONTH to handle this rubbish load. All this rubbish is separated into 4 lines, compacted & trucked to Bukit Tagar, Rawang landfill. What went wrong??
About 2 years ago, the contract to manage the waste transfer station was given to Umpan Jaya Sdn Bhd. At that time Umpan Jaya was a RM2/- company with zero experience of waste disposal
Recently out of the 4 rubbish lines, 3 we’re not working. So DBKL sealed off the transfer station & that is how 500 tons of rubbish was thrown on the MRR 2
My comments are 1. Who is Umpan Jaya Sdn Bhd?? How come they were awarded this vital contract when it had zero waste disposal experience?? 2. Proposed Incinerator in Taman Beringin. DBKL plans to put this huge RM800/- million incinerator there despite massive protests. My question is, This breakdown of the waste transfer station, is this a devious plan by DBKL to convince the KL residents that the incinerator plant is badly needed?? 3.the massive increases in DBKL assessment rates starting Jan 2014. How can The Mayor of DBKL & Tengku Adnan, Minister of FT justify this increase when they can’t even manage properly a very simple problem ie rubbish disposal In fact those residents whose rubbish has not been collected recently should ask for a discount!!

Dr Tan on walkabout @ Prima Setapak Market
9 November, Saturday – Dr Tan made a surprise visit to Prima Setapak Market to understand the grassroot grieveness and issues. The common issues that had been raised by the market traders are frequency of DBKL clamping on parking offences (during peak morning time) and inconsistent water supply. Dr Tan had instructed his service center representatives to look into this matter with DBKL authority.
