(2008)
Cloak of the Night by EOB (featuring Laura Marling) from the album Earth
Ride (1991)
Ride- Going Blank Again (Shoegaze, Alternative Rock, Neo-Psychedelia) Released: March 9, 1992 [Creation Records/ Sire Records] Producer(s): Alan Moulder, Ride
Year Zero gave Trent Reznor the well-deserved freedom and … then what? He followed that one up with Ghosts I – IV, which represented another phase for the group, though this one did point more towards the other work Reznor did later on, i.e. his soundtracks with Atticus Ross. He basically made Music For Films, if you catch my drift. Thus, the results are fine for the lack of a better worlds, though the pieces on this data dump – the way Reznor released Ghosts overshadowed the collection at times – differ in quality as some are mere sketches, whereas some feel like they would function even better with his vocals. The tune in the link, for instance, seems like a fan favourite cut he would still have to sing, yet the lack of voice makes this a spectre.

A final set of portraits of Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Alessandro Cortini, Alan Moulder, and me, Rob Sheridan, at Trent’s Los Angeles home studio in 2008 during the recording of Nine Inch Nails’ Ghosts I-IV, which was released 15 years ago this month. Photos by me, with Tamar Levine.
This is my fourth collection of Ghosts I-IV photography shared here for its 15th anniversary - see the others here.
