I don’t have too much art to post right now, so I thought I’d share the au that @gasps-inspanish and I have been brewing up ! Where instead of following the legacy of the GLC Kyle ends up getting Alan as a mentor instead ! This shifts a lot of things around, and him meeting Ruby eventually them getting along a decent amount!

Ramblings under the cut ! ( + the first drawing of Kyle for this au where I was figuring out his design)

This au is mostly just me and the awesome as ever Gis being silly and having fun with things and picking up random pieces and playing with them.

For instance a reason why Ruby eventually becomes friends with Kyle is because Kyle is helping her search for her dad since well- he gets it. I’ll admit I mainly wanted her here because I love Ruby Sokov and I will explore the part of her character that the writers haven’t.

Additionally there’s a bit more skepticism towards Kyle in the au from other heroes, since he fails to make a lot of the connections as fast as he does in canon, instead meeting members of the JSA. while not becoming an active member of the JSA he does become one of the people on call if they need extra backup.

The first drawing is actually based off an idea that the JLA needed Kyle as a consultant on something up in space, but he still didn’t have the best relationship with them at that point so Ruby came with him to give support.

Hal and Kyle in this au are a bit more strained relationship wise. Kyle still believes in Hal but he’s a bit more hesitant to become friends with him once he’s stopped being parallax.

We never . Really came up with a name for the au and nicknamed it alanlings au so it just kind of stuck 😭
