Gordon Ramsay is a famous Scottish chef and restaurateur. He has multi-Michelin stars. He has opened a string of successful restaurants across the globe, from the UK and France to Singapore and Hong Kong, to the United States. Gordon has also become a television star both in the UK and internationally, with shows such as Kitchen Nightmares, Hell’s Kitchen, Hotel Hell and Master Chef US.

Gordon Ramsay was born in 8, 1966, in Glasgow, Scotland. When he was 5 he moved with his family to England. Ramsay’s first love was soccer so at age 15 he joined a pro soccer club. In 1985, he injured his knee therefore he ended his career. He got a degree in hotel management in 1987.

After graduating, he started working with expert chefs such as Marco Pierre, Albert Roux, Jöel Robuchon and Guy Savoy. In 1993 Ramsay took the reins of the newly opened Aubergine. Within three years, he had earned two Michelin stars. Then in 1998, Chef Ramsay opened his first owned restaurant, Gordon Ramsey’s. Furthermore, his restaurant became famous quickly and got three stars by Michelin.
After that, Gordon Ramsay opened other restaurants, including Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’ s and Boxwood Café.

The young famous chef appeared as a judge on the BBC competitive cooking show Master Chef in 1996. Three years later, he was the focus of a British documentary miniseries, Boiling Point. His success led him to another miniseries Beyond Boiling Point, in 2000. In the spring of 2004, he hosted two programs: Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares and Hell’s Kitchen. In 2005, an American version of Hell’s Kitchen debuted on FOX TV. Ramsay’s strong ratings on U.S. screens opened the door for an adaptation of American versions of Kitchen Nightmares, Master Chef (2010) and Master Chef Junior (2013).
Ramsay has written more than 20 books. Ramsay married a schoolteacher in 1996. They have four children.
