Provincial parks seems like it’s a bit popular now... is it because the national parks are not open? . . September 2022
We made a second visit to southern Alberta at the end of the summer. Back to Cypress Hills and Writing-on-Stone/Áísínai'pi Provincial Park, only this time it wasn’t 40 degrees and it was September so it was much less busy. We enjoyed hiking, driving around and exploring the landscapes and the wildlife, and doing a truly memorable tour of the rock art found throughout the park. Our guide was Blackfoot and his connection with the land and stories he shared with us made this one of the most rewarding tours I’ve ever experienced. And I saw my first ever rattlesnake! It was so small I don’t think its first rattle was even formed yet, but it still counts.
