Technically speaking the deuteragonists of brba and bcs both got the same ending:
Jesse's ending implied he could have a relatively normal life from then on: I'm thinking having a job, a small house, maybe even some casual friends. And the message was clear: this is a good thing for him. After everything he went through he deserved a second chance at a normal life!
Then in bcs we actually see Kim get all of that: has a 9-to-5, a house, surface level friendships, a jakey. By all means she has a good life. But it was framed SO miserably, this is clearly not the life she would've chosen for herself in any other situation!
