“Ertuğrul ve Ötesi: Netflix Çağında Manevi Müslüman Medya” paneli https://sahrahaber.com/ertugrul-ve-otesi-netflix-caginda-manevi-musluman-medya-paneli/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=tumblr
This is the story of the seventh century prophet who changed world history in 23 years, and continues to shape the lives of more than 1.2 billion people. The film takes viewers not only to ancient Middle Eastern sites where Muhammad's story unfolds, but into the homes, mosques and workplaces of some of America's estimated seven million Muslims to discover the many ways in which they follow Muhammad's example.
The Global Urban Muslim
At Safi Arts we have recently been thinking long and hard about our target customers. Mainly because we are a new company and about to embark on a bold journey, but also because our target market is unique and currently underrepresented both online and offline.
Yesterday we came across Alchemiya, they are new company with a bold vision (just like us!) and what we found interesting is how they described their target audience. They used the phrase "Global Urban Muslim" below is a link to the video. We found this interesting and absolutely agreed with the definition.
"Sophisticated, educated muslims with the latest technology who love to travel and at the same time they care about their religion" - to paraphrase Navid Akhtar, CEO at Alchemiya.
For us, all we would add to this definition is that the global urban muslim also has a hunger for knowledge. We all know that people learn in different ways and that you can get individuals excited about exploring new ideas in different ways. At Safi Arts we feel that art and in particular Islamic art is unique in that the beauty ultimately leads you ask other important questions. Whilst in western art there is a lot of focus on the artists view and how they feel (there is obviously a lot more to western art that just this), this is generally not the case with Islamic art. Calligraphy in the Islamic world is a great example, the focus tends to be either verses from the Quran or words / letters from the Quran. In such a case it is difficult to look at a piece and not reflect (do dhikr) on the magnificence of our creator Allah SWT.
Upon reflection people ask questions and search for meaning and we hope the pieces that our artists will shortly be making available will enable global urban muslims to ponder and as they show their non muslims friends / family engage with them in a whole new way.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, especially in the sense of how inspiration comes, and perhaps I should have phrased that a bit better. The real sentiment behind the post, was that its not the creativity I'm low on, but the motivation and even collaboration of other individuals that makes it easier to make a project happen. I have ideas, but its really hard to execute whenever you're low on resources, and I just think that it would be sort of cool to work on something a little less quietly and a little less independently for a change. What I'm doing as of late has prevented me from undertaking things like that as much as I used to or maybe even need to expand upon some ideas.
