Clarification of my question about Tecmy and Florelia being found boring. I saw a user write about how Tecmy aren’t actually the same person (lamb of zenith) but many people outside of tumblr say they are the same. I see many also saying Florelia are the same. So I would like to know your thoughts about that. (Disregard the other question)
Ahh I see! The short answer is no, neither couple are the same.
@lambofzenith's thoughts on Tecmy sum up most of mine so I won't get too into them for now. Most people think they're the same simply because they have very similar interests. But even their shared interest in technology differs in key areas! For instance, Timmy really likes the technology of the RF ships while Tecna isn't that interested in that (though she is just as knowledgeable about it). Or how Tecna relies a lot more on technology than Timmy does! When it comes to actual personalities, they're completely different.
Florelia are even more different! The thought that they're the same character is only applicable if you're looking at the fanon versions of both of them. Within canon, they're very different. For instance, Flora's tendency to overshare versus Helia never talking about himself. Or Flora's shyness being more of an anxiety thing and Helia not actually being that shy and instead is just overly cautious of what to say. Or Flora thinking everyone deserves a second chance versus Helia having a one strike system. Flora offering advice when she thinks people need it and often overstepping versus Helia only offering advice when other's ask or in the heat of the moment. Even their interests are worlds apart (Helia doesn't know a damn thing about plant care and it's actually really funny).
But yeah honestly? None of the main couples are that similar? Even Bloom and Sky and extremely different. The whole "it's the Winx and they're male counterparts" thing is like,, not accurate at all and comes from a place of people either not paying attention to the Specialists or only looking at their fanon versions.
