What characters do you think are underrated?

I assume you mean South Park, in which case I have quite a few picks actually.

In my understanding "underrated" means "this character's impact on the show is disproportionate compared to their popularity in the fandom", which imo would disqualify most one-off characters. I'm gonna ramble for a bit under the cut

The answer I'm most confident about is Classi, she had a huge role in TFBW and helped resolve the conflict in season 19's arc, and yet I barely ever see any fanart of her!

Another character I almost never see fanart for is Mr. Adams, which wouldn't be that surprising if he wasn't Mike Makowski's stepdad, which I think has so much potential for both silly and serious fan-content. Speaking of vamp kids, I always found that One Grown Ass Man Vampire very memorable and funny too.

Scott Tenorman is featured in the highest rated South Park episode and is absolutely crucial to Cartman's character development, but fanart and fanfic featuring him is... rather sparse. Something something not shippable enough I suppose

Shelley has been getting more attention in the fandom recently, but she's still sometimes forgotten or demonized, especially outside of the tumblr fandom echo chamber. She deserves a spot here.

Alejandro is one of the few one-off characters that I actually think is somewhat underrated when compared to other one-offs, especially the "Foreign Kid" clique. He has surprisingly a lot going on and let's be real here, he's more of a Foreign Kid than Damien.

I had some empty space left in the corner of the canvas so I added Jimmy who has gotten a lot more fandom love in the recent decade so he's not quite in the same league as all the other characters here let's fucking goooooo On a similar note, I've also noticed that many of the adult characters have been getting more attention on here as well, good for them, good for them

Day 6: Foreign Kids

Unfortunately I do not have time to do the other kids that qualify (i.e. Rebecca/Mark, Cosette, the Asian Girls, etc.) because I gotta pick up the pace on other art

Alejandro is OBJECTIVELY the most underrated character in the whole franchise. He has so much going on. His backstory, his parallels (and differences) with Jason, his character arc, the moment, when he finally breaks...Like, are you guys blind. "But he's only in one episode--" i don't care. The way he haunts the narrative before even existing the way he becomes. The fact, that his constant longing to his family implies that they were really nice to him. The way the whole town demonizes him, when he's just trying to get home, but nobody seems to care. The fact, that he still might return (god pls i need this so much in the new season). I probably still missed so much. He represents everything i love about episodic characters in South Park. A deep and interesting story being told in such a short amount of time. The character, who despite being just a minor occurrence in the overall plot manages to make you THINK and stays with you. There's so little shows that can do this right, and i highly appreciate this being done really well here. "But we have too little content--" Then use your brain. You can draw him happy with his family. You can make him bleed out and rethink his life choices as an aftermath of his episode. You can make him meet the main cast or/and your fav character. You can make an AU where Jason is still alive and have fun with thinking about how their relationship would be, with their parents regularly praising Jason. MAKE HIM MEET WITH DAVID AND HAVE ALEJANDRO REALISE THAT DAVID HAS EVERYTHING HE EVER WISHED FOR– I know, that there's lots of episodic characters, that need more love, but still you can sometimes see someone talking about them. So why is nobody talking about Him. Why. Is there a taboo around him or something? Someone explain this to me. I need answers. (Sorry if it's too rushed i needed this off my brain as quickly as possible)
