Licking this guy
Had a little doodle time today
The first dance.
I've been trying to write some romantic, sweet fillers for my novel 'Twisted Fates' because I want to develop the complicated relationship between Elle and Zander. Today I wrote a lovely dance scene when I should have been studying... It was worth it! I can see it developing into such a cute moment between them! So here is the draft of Elle and Zander's first dance :)
"I can't sing or play piano but, I can dance," Zander states, looking up as he waits for my reaction.
'Dance? Why do I get the feeling you're lying' I reply, feeling dubious.
'Because you're a pessimist.' He pauses, starring into my eyes unwaveringly and then reaches out his hand. When I slip my hand into his I feel him tighten his grip, palms sweaty. I smirk at his nervousness and grab his other hand, placing it against my waist. I move in closer to his chest, looking up at him. His hair falls across his forehead nearly covering his eyes but through the wispy blonde strands I can see his blue eyes staring back. For a moment we stand still, hands locked together, and then Zander steps to the side, taking me with him.
We begin to dance and I'm pleasantly surprised to find that he was telling the truth. Each step is graceful and practiced as he spins us in step with the music. I follow each step, in a less graceful manner but I keep up with him, side stepping and twisting with the beat of the music. We fall further in sync with each step and my body begins to relax into the movements. Each time Zander turns, I turn with him, watching as he smiles wider, lost in the moment.
