🍂 Does your OC enjoy hugs? What do they do as a show of affection for: their friends, their family, their significant other(s) or for strangers? Over all what are they like with receiving affection from others?
He’s not against hugs, but he’s not normally one to ever really initiate a hug. If someone he cares for wants to hug him, he’s all for it. Don’t expect him to hug back every single time, but do expect a pat on the head or on the side to show that, yes he is enjoying this thank you. I think overall he enjoys and will accept affection from people but he doesn’t actively seek it out.
He tries to remember to pick up tea for Darling, that way they’re never out whenever he drops by. He picks up scarves from the market whenever he notices Merek eyeing them. Kal tries to remember the small things, when he can. That’s the type of affection he tries to offer.
Kal is the guy that you can call at like 4am, waking him out of a dead sleep, because you need help, and he’ll be up and out the door before you can fully explain your situation. I think that’s also how he shows affection the most, just offering to protect and help people as much as he can.
🌻 What little things do they notice about people or the world around them that make them happy? What tiny little treasures do they find in the normal every day that makes the world seem a little brighter for them?
There’s a bird, some brown finch of some sort, that always finds it’s way into the front of his shop on warm days when the door is open. He leaves seeds out for it, in a tiny dish on the front counter, because watching it hop around and fly up to the rafters makes him smile.
He knows Merek loves flowers, and it was nothing Merek ever really talked about, but Kal noticed anyways, the way Merek would linger besides carts filled with fresh flowers and run his fingers over the petals. How he’d sometimes come back to the shop with a single flower and hand it to Kal with a large smile. It made something in his heart melt and fizzle and feel so fucking tender for this kid. So, Kal handmade flower boxes for every single window of their building, and even cleaned out a corner of their small backyard, and when he’s not busy with other things, he’ll gladly help Merek water the flower boxes and tend the little garden. It’s relaxing.

Kaladhar hates being sick with a passion. He’s the type that believes if you refuse to acknowledge being sick, it’ll just go away. He’s constantly proven wrong but one of these days. Kal is also the type to be constantly busy with something or other, so being sick is just, taking away from what he Could be doing. When he’s forced to stay in bed by either Merek or Darling, he grumbles about it for ages. Claiming he’s perfectly fine and would they just let him finish his work. (he is clearly not fine, and he is not allowed near a forge while dizzy and nauseous)
He’s pretty good with taking care of others, but he’s a little bit of the tough love type. He’s not going to coddle and dote on you, but he also doesn’t believe in “suck it up.” He’s the only person who can suck it up and power through sjhgdjksdfs if he cares about you, then you bet your ass you’re staying in bed and taking medicine.
