The second firebender in a family of waterbenders, Alev always tried to be what her parents wanted her to be. But they wanted a waterbender daughter they could take care of, not a firebender with a short temper. Alev never could meet her grandmother, never could learn how to firebend and deal with her parents. She was an only child, so her parents expected a lot from her, and when she reached the age of fourteen, she had to leave home for the Academy with all the comments her parents made about her. She really wanted to be a waterbender, but after a year spent with Master Yaka, the insecurity was gone- Alev started to love firebending and saw it as a gift, not a curse. Though she stopped going home during the breaks to not see the disappointed expression on her parents' faces, and her hate towards them grew bigger by each year, turning into an unstoppable rage.

Behind that pure anger, Alev's a really fun girl. She has a great sense of hmour without the sarcasm, and when people get to know her they realize that she's really, really loyal and confident. As a kid, Alev hated herself because she was not a waterbender, but growing up made her love herself and realize that fire is not a curse, it's a gift. Alev stays with her friend, Tessa, and the two are really close friends. Alev bakes for everyone in the tower and visits everyone- she is really loved around the firebenders and she loves talking to people. Her firebending is average and she's determined to improve it and become one of the best firebenders in the Academy- Master Yaka helps, of course. Alev loves pro-bending but she never really got in a team, and she doesn't like the new style- she's been learning the ancient by Master Yaka at night.
