under
construction.
This is gonna be kind of tough to say... erm We're moving. What this means is, basically, we realized that this RPG has changed so much over the course of the year it's existed, that we started thinking it needs a better plot, a lot more FCs, more accessibility, and we can't continue with this anymore. Anyone who wants to join the new RPG (which needs a lot of planning, let's be real) can apply as soon as we're ready, but that won't be for a long, long time and I hope you realize that. We need to plan out bios and formats and character/story arcs, it's a lot of work and we need time and we've decided to shut this one down, call it an 'under construction' deal (even though we're starting completely all over). I wouldn't want to go into super detailed explanations, because honestly, I'm not even sure we know exactly what to do from now on, but just know, that this RP is no longer active, so if you wish to leave, we understand and we are not going to shout at you or be angry. Kudos.
Hi everyone. Okay so I know we've had a few messages and questions lately, especially about the layout of the main blog, open characters and masters and whatnot. I'm not too sure what the other admins are up to right now but I'm actually overseas, where I have wifi but only have my phone and iPad so am unable to make any of those sort of changes yet. It also means I can't answer your messages on 'private' and I'm very sorry for all this. If I get the chance, I will try my hardest to fix these issues up but it's more likely to happen in two weeks time when I arrive home. Unless Gubse or Alex gets around to it first. Sorry for all this guys, and don't feel like you're bothering us, it's okay. We want you to be happy here, that's important to us. So I hope you all beat with us for the next little bit while we sort everything out! • Admin Em
Hey! I have a friend who is new to RPing and is hoping to apply as Bushi, would it be too much trouble to reserve him? (I know, I ask way too much in here, but yeah.)
Great audition! We'd love to have you join us! Make the account and send it to us within 48 hours.

Character Name: Song Leekosh
Fire/Earth/Water/Air?: Water
Character Age: 15
Preferred Face Claim: Haillee Steinfeld
Preferred Ships: Kataang, Maiko, Sukka,
Have you read the rules?: yeah, bending is cool
Character Bio: Song is the opposite of her best friend, Aura, who is calm and shy. Song is the reason that Aura has many friends, and she also has a lot of friends, but Aura is the one that she trusts the most. Song didn’t have any siblings so she’s kind of a little bit selfish, never letting anyone be close friends with Aura. Song grew up with her father, because her mother and her father had split up when she was really young but she didn’t mind, she loved them both very much and they were still friends. Song’s father was a waterbender and her mother was an earthbender, and they soon found out that she could bend water- the day that a glass fell from the table and the water wasn’t wet because Song had controlled it, and her father and her became even closer. Even when she was a small child, Song wanted to go to the Academy and finally bend without feeling guilty, and when she finally did, she fell in love with the island. She met Aura the very first day she got there and the two became close friends quickly, and Song was never alone, she had Aura on her side, always calming her down when she argued with Kita.
Para Sample (2+ paragraphs, in your character’s perspective, 3rd person.):
Song beamed as the ferry took them ever closer to their destination. In just a fe more moments, they would arrive at the Bending Academy, also known as the place she'd dreamed of for years. To occupy her mind, she hung over the railing and made bits of ocean spurt out in small fountains. It was some of the simplest bending she knew. All the same, making fountains from the water had always been one of her favorite techniques. She hoped at the Academy she could learn how to evolve it so she could make a giant geyser. That would definitely get a few heads rolling.
"Excited?" her father asked as he came beside her.
"Of course." she responded.
"Nervous at all?"
"Nervous?" she turned to her father. "Why would I be nervous? I'm too thrilled to be nervous. Daddy, I'm finally going to the Academy."
Her father smiled as he slightly rumpled her hair. "I should have known. You're like your mother, not enough restraint to feel nervous."
"I am choosing to take that as a compliment." Song leaned even further out of the boat. The island was starting to come into view. "Do you think they'll have a probending team?"
"I don't think so sweetheart."
"Aw man. I was really hoping they would."
"I'm hoping you make friends that will calm you down a bit."
"Daddy, that will never happen." she said incredulously. She was bummed about the pro bending . She had seen her first match when she was eight weeks old, and swore she loved it since. It was her favorite sport, pastime, hobby, anything. She thought if she was surrounded with benders she may be able to join a team, but apparently not. And her father's verbal desire wasn't unexpected either. For years he hoped she would embrace the calm and gentle ways of the water-benders, but Song had done everything in her power to see that that never happened. Water-benders were supposed to represent a flowing stream. Song more personified a waterfall, or maybe a whirl pool.
"Oh my god, THERE IT IS." she yelled into the wind. She pointed at the now visible Academy coming closer with every second.
As they neared, the blurs started to clarify. Splotches shaped into trees, dabs into rocks. Soon the island was in full view and crystal clear.
Wonderful audition! It's good to have a new person join too! Sorry for not replying to your asks, I've been away this weekend and only just got home!
You have 48 hours to make her account and send it to us!
Name: Stefanie, Stef, Stefi (Preferably Stefanie)
Timezone: EST
Activity Level: I think most days I would be able to do something, weekends I will be good. Some days I have more homework than others. Vacation time is normally good.
Old or Other RP Accounts: Sorry to say that this is actually my first time doing RP, but I have a lot of experience writing in the perspectives of other characters.
Preferred Character: Alev Than
Preferred Ships: Alev/Leo. If there is a problem because he is open, then I guess none. I think it sort of works because it seems like they both have parents that don’t understand them and their bending.
Have You Read the Rules? Yes, thoroughly. Bending is cool
Sample:
Alev looked at the snow piled up on the ground. It was the day before she left for the Bending Academy, and the snow just made her feel worse. She held her hand over the white coating on the ground, hoping that it would rise up, and she would suddenly become a waterbender, instead of the firebender her parents had never wanted. Instead of rising, the snow melted completely, and the heat singed the ground below it. She sighed inwardly, kicking at the other patches of snow around her.
“Alev!” Her mother yelled. Her mom was wrapped up in traditional water tribe clothing, hair loops, the whole deal.
“Yes, mom?” She asked, looking up from the frozen snow.
“Come inside, we still have some packing to do.” She said, stepping inside again. Alev sighed one final time at the fact that her mother seemed so unhappy and emotionless around her. She walked into their house. Lying across their table were letters, all from the academy, about the rules, schedules, and what to wear. Sitting on the couch was a wide open suitcase, stuffed with books, clothing, and miscellaneous water tribe garb that just made Alev feel worse about her situation.
‘Being a firebender in my family is not an easy task.’ she thought to herself, looking up at the image of her grandmother, which was hung over the fireplace.

Preferred Ships: Samenthea/Chemistry
Have you read the rules?: BENDING IS FLIPPING COOL, OKAY?! :D
Para Sample (2+ paragraphs, in your character’s perspective, 3rd person.):
Samenthea groaned as the water dropped back into the pond. She had done the move wrong, again. It was a new move she had to learn, but the fact that it wasn't perfect made her want to rip her hair out.
She kept trying and trying but the water kept falling. "Come on," she mumbled to herself, the water rising again as she concentrated on it. A smirk slowly spread across her face as she perfected the move, the water dropping after she was finished.
"That's what I thought." Samenthea grinned and walked away from the pond, feeling very confident.
(I know, that was a pitiful para, but it was the best I could do at the moment.)
Well, it's set around 16 years after the death of Avatar Korra. And the ATLA verse has a different calendar system, so it's hard to really say when it's set exactly?
[cont] Nobody was being racist in this RP until you pointed that out. I, myself, an asian and loved the fact that ATLA has asian culture and people in, but I am not complaining about the FCs here. I agree with what the admins said, if you want PoC in the roleplay maybe you can help us? Give some suggestions? Do not start pestering us while you are not even helping. I would personally love to help, but I don't know that much PoC faceclaims. Seriously, maybe YOU GUYS should be the one helping us.
Can you publish this? Take time to notice that we are not white washing. We are simply doing this roleplay for fun. I have stumble across a few ATLA roleplay that uses white FCs, this is not a crime. We are simply using the white FC because first, it attracts more attention; second, there more gifs out there; third, roleplaying is not all about faceclaims! This roleplay is also set far around the future of the franchise, maybe some of the white people began to appear alongside the asians.
so basically what you're saying is that you know the source material is all PoC, but you don't give a crap and just want to drool over white celebrities and are choosing to be racist anyway and whitewash. Okay.
Actually, that's not at all what we're saying. What we're saying is that we are catering for demand. When it comes to roleplaying, a lot of people really want to play their favourite celebrities, and as such, certain face claims become popular. Also, these popular celebrities have huge amounts of material - gifs, pictures etc - which makes playing them so much easier. There was no intention of racism at all.
And we do actually give a crap! If creating characters with 'non racist FC's is what will make our rp better, than we would love to do that. But, what bugs me about all of these asks, is that you aren't giving us practical suggestions. We are totally happy to create the characters you want, actually, we'd love to! We would just appreciate suggestions of face claims, etc, rather than criticism.
I'm sorry that what we've done has offended you, this was never our intention.
And let's not forget, you're fighting us over fancasts of an RPG, when there are much bigger issues leading into media about The Last Airbender franchise itself. The movie, ignoring its actual bad adaptation from the cartoon, was also casted with some white actors at the roles of people who should have respectfully been played by Indigenous/Asian people. Take for example, the role of Sokka and Katara, played by actors who clearly had no likeness to the original characters at all. Jackson Rathbone played a vampire. I think that one speaks for itself. Because that's not just a thing on the internet, like ours is, it's an actual part of the multi-million dollar movie industry, more popular to the world, mostly filmed in the USA, actually being viewed by 10000x times our 'audience'. This RPG is nothing compared to that. But no one talks about it, no one has complained about it, instead we're fighting over something as stupid as our own fancasts for a thing that we made up. We understand your concern, and please keep in mind that not all roleplayers in this RPG are white and it's also hard to find enough indigenous/Asian actors under the age of 20, who have played in enough movies and have enough information on them on the internet, who haven't just been 'that one person passing by in the background' in random films. We don't mind recommendations (in fact, if you have any, sure, tell us), we just don't appreciate being insulted.
I tried to keep professional. I tried to stay calm. But what the hell. Seriously, what the hell? And you thought that we'd just sit here and watch people talk about us like we murdered a thousand people? I really can't believe these people. Okay, we use a lot of white FCs. Yeah. Why the fuck not? Can't we do that? These are original characters, oh and don't forget the fact that we can do whatever the fuck we want. You think that we should use Asian and Indigenous FCs in all the characters- Me and Em experienced that personally when the rpg we met in got comments on being racist- they used a lot of Asian and Indigenous FCs to show that they're not racist- and guess what happened? No one took them. So, trying to have more roleplayers and attract people in the rpg by making characters with using white FCs is racism now? And well, if that's what you think, what you do is not being respectful to our choices- and don't go 'bitch, shut the fuck up' to me. We're not racist, jesus fucking christ- I'M THIRTEEN. HOW RACIST CAN I BE? This roleplay group was made for fun and WE CAN DO WHATEVER THE HELL WE WANT AND YOU HAVE TO FUCKING STAND THERE AND WATCH IT. So what did we do? Huh? Did we start killing Asian and Indigenous people? Huh? Did we fucking say anything bad about them? Oh, hey, let's guess the answer- NO. WE DIDN'T. And if you don't like this fucking RPG, then stay away. Don't send us messages that say 'these fcs are bad this should be this that should be that'- We have the right to do whatever we want. Talking behind our backs is so fun, isn't it? Well, then, do it. But don't try to control us. Don't try to fucking make us try to please you- not gonna happen. I didn't get a shotgun and killed everyone you consider as a 'good face claim'. Sure, everyone's gonna make a fuss about this, about how 'irresponsible' and 'racist' we are- have you even fucking talked to us? Oh, wait, you didn't. So you can't know. And we're not going to get scared and close the rpg or whatever. We want to have fun, here, and you're not going to be able to make us fucking depressed. I consider those messages as anon hate- and you know where anon hate leads someone? Suicide. We're not murderers. We don't insult anyone. You just think we do and say things that we haven't even thought about. You might try to make us sad, make us scared- but not gonna happen, darling. We don't care. Seriously, there are people who fucking enjoy this and we're not gonna please you and close this rpg. Think before you accuse someone with something.
Oh and, fuck off.
Messages about us being racist are going to be ignored and deleted.
The second firebender in a family of waterbenders, Alev always tried to be what her parents wanted her to be. But they wanted a waterbender daughter they could take care of, not a firebender with a short temper. Alev never could meet her grandmother, never could learn how to firebend and deal with her parents. She was an only child, so her parents expected a lot from her, and when she reached the age of fourteen, she had to leave home for the Academy with all the comments her parents made about her. She really wanted to be a waterbender, but after a year spent with Master Yaka, the insecurity was gone- Alev started to love firebending and saw it as a gift, not a curse. Though she stopped going home during the breaks to not see the disappointed expression on her parents' faces, and her hate towards them grew bigger by each year, turning into an unstoppable rage.
life;
Behind that pure anger, Alev's a really fun girl. She has a great sense of hmour without the sarcasm, and when people get to know her they realize that she's really, really loyal and confident. As a kid, Alev hated herself because she was not a waterbender, but growing up made her love herself and realize that fire is not a curse, it's a gift. Alev stays with her friend, Tessa, and the two are really close friends. Alev bakes for everyone in the tower and visits everyone- she is really loved around the firebenders and she loves talking to people. Her firebending is average and she's determined to improve it and become one of the best firebenders in the Academy- Master Yaka helps, of course. Alev loves pro-bending but she never really got in a team, and she doesn't like the new style- she's been learning the ancient by Master Yaka at night.
quote;
“Cause she's just like the weather, can't hold her together, Born from dark water, daughter of the rain and snow, Cause it's burning through the bloodline, It's cutting down the family tree, Growing in the landscape, darling, in between you and me."
