i feel like a lot of people are not talking about the fact that may or may not have owned two household slaves. I know he was an abolitionist and that’s clear, and he did ALOT of good with the anti-slavery movement it won’t go ignored but he may have owned 2 of his own and he was involved in buying and selling them or family or clients. Honestly this to me is honestly disappointing and honestly just a slap in the face because as much as i do love learning about Hamilton and i do liek a lot of things he did as a person and he is one of my favourite historical figures, he was not perfect when it came to slavery. I’m not sure if it’s clear if Hamilton himself owned slaves or servants and the last time i checked it was said that there isn’t enough evidence to deny or confirm that so it really doesn’t make sense when people are adamant on saying he himself owned them, like how do you know that if historians don’t even know that, it’s a really controversial and heartbreaking topic to learn about.

Aaron Burr apologists scare me so bad.

I was on TikTok and I came across a video which once again talking about the “villain” of Hamilton and oh my god the amount of Burr apologists that we’re defending him with their LIFE even in the dumbest argument e.g.

People saying things like “burr was betrayed” or “Hamilton spread rumours about him so he deserved to be shot” first of all wth…. If we just look at this situation from a wider scale.. Burr was offended because Hamilton was supposed to be his “friend” so could’ve never voted for another man in a POLITICAL situation and Hamilton also fired rumours about his dead wife and daughter even though Burr spread rumours about Hamilton’s mother, not to mention he would be abandoning his grown, independent daughter so he decided let’s challenge this man with literal toddlers and a wife to a duel. That is pathetic and if you’re literally defending him saying “oh no but Hamilton accepted” or “He mocked Burr” then just take a look at most of Burr’s songs which are brutally mocking Hamilton’s mother, backround and his personality and just realise that at the end of the day both Hamilton and Burr weren’t angels they were flawed men, however Burr really took it too far with the duel and it can’t be justified. Yes Hamilton cheated on his wife and yes he mocked Burr and his wife and his daughter but he did not deserve to be shot dead for it nor did he deserve the discrimination he got throughout his career. Burr is not the “good guy” or the “villain” of the story and neither is Hamilton people need to just realise that and stop defending them with your life. I mean if we really were to say there was a villain it would be either James Reynolds or Thomas Jefferson for the things they did.

Hot take: Angelica Schuyler is a bad sister in the musical🫣

In the musical to clarify! Irl I don’t think she was quite as bad and even though her and Alexander had a close relationship and maybe Angelica did have some sort of crush on Alexander but she was also very much in love with her own husband and there isn’t any evidence whatsoever for an actual affair. Some people said that she saw him as more of a brother but honestly no one knows for sure.

In the musical she goes on and on about protecting her sister and making sure her she has a good life but then goes onto having some sort of an affair with her husband and flirts with him at any chance she gets but then as soon as it comes to The Reynolds Affair coming out she’s suddenly by her side completely, she’s sort of a hypocrite. I know she means well but as a younger sister I know that if my older sister did that to me i would not forgive her or my husband for that matter. Obviously Alex is in the wrong here too in the musical but a lot of people already know that and dislike him for the way he treated Eliza unlike Angelica who they seem to completely idolise and love despite her also going behind Eliza’s back as well.

Cada vez que por mi mente pasa Dear Theodosia mientras juego Genshin, no dejo de imaginar una historia con el musical de Hamilton, y sería entretenido ver a Diluc o a Kaeya perdiendo a su querido hijo como le pasó a Alexander. Tal vez no por un duelo, pero la idea se me hace interesante.

Con Diluc sería desgarrador porque no sería la primera vez que ve morir a su sangre frente a él. Habría fallado de alguna manera para él. Se sentiría tan mal que siento que se perdería del mundo por un tiempo, solo estaría encerrado en su habitación llorando en silencio y viviendo su luto en soledad. Si habláramos de una historia x reader, te tendría a su lado más que nada porque sentiría que si se alejara mucho de ti, te perdería también, pero se asegura de mantener la distancia contigo porque, a sus ojos, en los zapatos de un hombre que perdió a su padre y luego a su hijo, él tiene la culpa por haber llegado tarde. Tardaría en recuperarse del luto, no solo sería suficiente el tiempo en que cazó al pobre diablo que arrancó la vida de su hijo.

Con Kaeya no sería muy diferente. Él no solo fue abandonado por su padre (tenga las razones que tenga, me gusta imaginar que Kaeya realmente intenta justificar lo que ocurrió con su padre porque #traumas, pero eso es para otra ocasión), ¿sino que ahora debe ver morir a su hijo? ¿Es una broma?. El pobre hombre en este punto siente que no está destinado a nada bueno, aunque intente mantener una máscara para que no parezca que le afecta tanto como lo hace, intenta mantenerse fuerte por ti. Pero los pensamientos intrusivos son más fuertes y terminan por ganar contra su buena lógica. Tal vez él no estaba destinado a una familia, tal vez sería buena idea irse, dejarte, piensa que sería lo mejor y lo más seguro, pero no antes de asegurarte que te ama más que a nada en el mundo y de destruir a quien asesinó a su hijo.
