I'm about to listen to Prince Albert Ep from last week. But before I listen, have you ever noticed a very weird disdain in the fandom for his illegitimate kids, Jasmine and Andre? I feel like the comments I see on posts about them on social media from popular blogs are always so unnecessarily snarky for very unproblematic kids. I've also noticed some of those comments about Princess delphine of belgium (from very popular bloggers both on tumblr, instagram, and Twitter). The entire thing seems so weird to me because none of these people are problematic, and it seems weird for outsiders to be snarky about them because they had no choice being illegitimate.

Anyways this is just my small observation.

Honestly I don't think I've ever seen anyone say anything about Jazmin and Alexandre, positive or negative lol. Just the facts of their story. I'm not saying you're wrong at all but I have no interest in them beyond their early lives so I don't seek out content around them and that's perhaps why I've never been exposed to anything like that.

I am interested in Delphine's story though and have sought out articles and posts about it, and so I have seen critical comments of her. I think the comments that were happening around the time of the court case and shortly after were unfair. And then when she was criticised for "monetising" royal status with things like Dancing with the Stars that's just the same thing we hear about every royal adjacent in every royal family and my views on that nonsense argument are well established. I will say that she hasn't helped herself in more recent years with the letter she wrote to the Prime Minister and the post she did on social media about how she deserved to be treated like a working royal despite not being a working royal. I also object to her general argument that blood/DNA is the single most important part of a person's familial connections but that's a bigger conversation and a more personal issue I have as an illegitimate child and a step-child myself. But the early attacks certainly weren't fair, and ultimately she's not the first entitled royal who can't seem to understand that a monarchy is set up to ensure stable governance for millions of ordinary people, even within her own family!

I think Albert never reject Alexandre. What happened with Jasmin I think it was because of Rainier.

He refused to recognise Alexandre publicly. In private he provided for him but he had a DNA test done and promised Nicole he would acknowledge him as his son and then didn't, and refused to hand over a copy of a legal document he'd signed stating Alexandre was his son. This prompted Nicole to give a very public interview about it which forced his hand and he acknowledged him. Nicole's interview came out just a month after Rainier's death and I imagine this would have been an ongoing disagreement between them so it's possible that given Rainier was nearing the end of his life, it influenced Albert's decisions. But Albert's a grown man. If you are old enough to father two kids, you're old enough to take responsibility for your choices as their parent. The children are the only people who get to decide if Albert has sufficiently atoned for how he treated them and it appears they have forgiven him, so I will too. But whether or not Rainier influenced him, he did make his own decisions.

The picture of all four of Albert's kids together is so cute. <3

It was a really sweet picture! Albert has got a lot of flack over the years for his supposed rejection of Jazmin and Alexandre and I will be the first to say that the way he handled the public attention in the early days of these two kids was not ok. But once he accepted that he was their father, there is nothing to imply he has ever treated them as any less than Gabriella and Jacques. Jazmin has talked several times about the great relationship she has with him, she has posted photographs with Alexandre and talked about their good relationship, Nicole Coste (Alexandre's mother) has said Alexandre sees the twins and they're just like any siblings. Jazmin and Alexandre are ultimately private citizens who just happen to have a very important father, something that they didn't choose. And Alexandre was until recently a child. Choosing not to thrust them into the public eye for photo opportunities the way they do with the twins could be seen as rejecting them because they're not "royal" or they're not legitimate but could also be seen as him protecting them because they have an expectation of privacy, and also possibly respecting their mothers' wishes - after all, Albert and Charlene will jointly make decisions about when the children do public engagements and Nicole and Jazmin's mother Tamara might have different views.

So basically I loved seeing this picture because she didn't make a big fuss over it as if it was the first time it's happened. It was just one of the many things that happened to her throughout the year and shows that even if we aren't being exposed to it, Albert and the women in his life have managed to support a bond between the four kids in what appears to be a very healthy way.
