I finished the Roosevelt High School, Pacific Islander cultural mural on the last day of school for students. We took group pictures today including the senior graduate and her niece that I painted in the middle of the mural. I haven't been able to post a lot about these books I've been working on. I got some proofs of the kids board books I've been illustrating, published by Little Bee Books. I'm so happy and proud of these. They are printed with fluorescent inks! I've got 4 finished and I'm currently working on 2 more. Celebrating Community and Inclusion: Portland International Airport Mural

I collaborated with Jeremy Nichols (@plasticbirdie) on a 50’ X 52’ mural from the top of a 110’ building on NW 2nd & NW Salmon St. in downtown Portland. We completed the whole mural in about 8 days. Tomorrow we will coat the mural with a clear UV resistant varnish. This first photo was taken moments before we finished the mural from the glass windows of the building across from us. Their employees have been watching us paint everyday for the last week and a half. They looked up our names and emailed us this photo as soon as we signed it. The following photos are the progress photos that I took at the end of each day. It was an honor to collaborate with Jeremy Nichols again. This time around I really had the opportunity to learn his process and understand how he gets things done so quickly. I learned a ton this time around and really appreciate his wisdom and talent. Thank you to @portlandstreetartalliance for the opportunity and to @nwscaffolding for setting up the swing stage for us.
