Any Christmas duties?
Yes. There were duties, and they were many.
I did not answer sooner because the season does not pause for reflection.
On the eve itself, I oversaw the lighting of the Christmas tree along the Promenade. It is a small thing, perhaps, but tradition steadies Heaven. I stood there until the light held, until the gathering settled, until joy arrived without being commanded.
I addressed the choirs afterward. Reassurance was required more than celebration.
In the days that followed, I attended petitions from newly arrived souls. Winter arrivals are often disoriented. I made time for them.
I also presided over the annual New Year convocation. The speech was… necessary. It is my responsibility to remind Heaven what it is accountable for as one year closes and another begins.
Between these moments, my usual duties remained. Judgments to review. Orders to reaffirm. Boundaries to maintain.
She pauses.
I regret the delay in answering you. It was not neglect.
You are not forgotten.
