Got to watch @alexis-royce livestream his wip game Nonplatonic Forms, a horror visual novel about a human vs a dying old god.
I’m…. Real soft, for something that has some serious psychological horror u guys.
Lee and Diegesis are nowhere near so soft as of yet. There’s no way Diegesis would give up someone like Lee, not when his literal life is on the line. He’s desperate and it certainly holds higher priority than this one human.
But even as it is there’s so much fun energy between such contrasting people, who are both still wholly passionate about things even when they disagree. And despite the stakes, there’s a palpable mutual respect between the two. I can’t wait to see how their game develops.
Stanley and Narrator for the starter prompt: “please don’t let me forget your voice.”
ohhhhhohohoho, i needed to chew on this one for awhile to get the right words out but hoo boy. you know how to hit it where it hurts
also i know you were probably aiming for something a lil closer to canon possibly smth to do with the skip button but you handled that p handily BUT im still marinating an Idea... so heres a taste of that

Stanley looked up through the broken window. Jagged shards of dirty glass rose up from the frame like teeth, scattering the moonlight that filtered through into a muddy kaleidoscope. It would have been pretty, in another time. Another life.
He fingered the scuffed and scratched old pager. Battery was getting low. He'd need to charge it soon, but that required sunlight, and sunlight required him leave this little corner of safety he'd dug out among the rust and rubble.
He could still hear the groans, the slick wet meaty sounds of the dead feeding outside. He hoped it was only some unlucky wildlife caught this time. It probably wasn't.

Shuddering, Stanley curled up tighter. His clothes were crusted with who-knows-what, blood and dirt and the oozing decay that seemed to coat the whole world, but he was used to it, he was used to it all even though thinking about it too long made his skin crawl. He just pushed it to the back of his mind along with everything else he had to to just keep going, along with thoughts of his life from Before and worries about his old acquaintances and fear for the voice, his guide, his friend who he couldn't hear anymore but who promised to not leave him behind like all the others-
Another wrenching meat sound, closer, made Stanley flinch. He stilled so completely one might have mistaken him for one of their victims, breath caught and fear swallowed like a deer in the headlights, a mouse in a trap. He froze as the sickening crunch, crunch sawed in his ears and only breathed again as heavy, dragging footfalls moved away.
The pager in his hand still read no response. The low-battery light blinked red and forlorn at him.
Stanley had never felt so alone.

A world away, in a room full of antennae and computers that blinked and alerted of messages received and awaiting transmission, the lone door, once barred and safe, hung open, ripped off its hinges.
Amidst the faint beeping of unread pages, there was only a slow, steady plip, plip, plip.
Hi! I just wanted to say thank you for putting Off the Cuff on your recommendations list! It was such a pleasant surprise seeing so many people coming in from there, and I've also been having a nice time scrolling through your list finding new games to play. This is an excellent resource, and thank you for helping more people get into IF and VNs!
oh my gosh, thank you so much!?!!! I am glad that people are discovering Off the Cuff! I spent a few hours trying to get all the endings lol. there aren’t enough words for me to express how delighted I am that creators and readers alike are finding my list and finding new games to play 💛
Yo happy birthday! I hope you can still have fun. PM me if you’ve got a steam account and I’ll throw a game or something at you to alleviate boredom and celebrate another year around the sun.
Oh! I’ll let you know if I can take that offer- I don’t think my computer in it’s current state can handle steam but if I either find that it can or the new computer I’m investing in could work, then I’ll let you know!
For the least favorite character thing, how about Deadly Prem?
Oh gawddd… But like… Deadly Premonition’s a frikkin masterpiece… To choose something negative about it… other than the battlesystemcamerasoundbalanceweirdassgraphicsetc…
I don’t like Forrest Kaysen, but just cuz he’s… Gross. And has bad vibes. Being around him makes me feel uncomfortable. He feels sweaty, yknow? Like someone who’d be real sweaty but want to hug you, without invitation. Despite being a stranger. And pull already opened sweets out of his pocket with his bare sweaty hand to share with you. That vibe. But maybe that’s just me. I don’t think he’s a bad character by any means though xD He might just be too real.
So i was hoping to pick up a commision from @alexis-royce at anime midwest. She was super helpful and even though i wont be able to pick it up from the con because of the payment method i have to use, i still look forward to having her make me a one of a kind piece of art.
So. All in all. Shes an awesome person for helping me with my first ever commission process! I definetly recommend checking her out!
List 3 fears; one “surface level” fear, one “repressed” fear, and one “deep dark” fear.
Oh geez, this one’s a bit harder…
Surface level fear is he gets antsy over public affection- especially when it involves him. He definitely has a problem with personal bubbles being broken.
For repressed, he has problems with sudden, loud noises- for reasons you can guess after seeing some of his backstory. (Henry has some similar problems.)
For deep dark fear:
Exposure- not precisely sexual or physical entirely but after knowing her secret from chapter 12, I’m sure you know what I mean. It’s a mix of struggles with personal identity after being raised to be one way but being told that she’s “technically” the other.
Also, just in case, I know I’ve mentioned this before but it’s good to revisit for new readers but Oswald is a cis woman disguised as a man and not a trans man. The only reason I decided on this was because it was her family that forced her to take this identity to replace her brother, if she had chosen to do so on her own, then I would’ve absolutely had her as a trans man.
