Pt.1. Here's a small Nalu headcanon: they couldn't agree on what to name the baby for over a month, they just called her Baby. Because Natsu absolutely INSISTED her name had to be Stella (star lol). He had this idea that their firstborn would be a girl and she'd be named Stella, and the next child would be a boy and his name would be Ryuu or Ryuuji (ryuu means dragon). So the kids' names would be a mix of Lucy, the princess of stars, and Natsu, the dragon slayer/king of dragons.
Pt. 2. Lucy liked the name Stella, but it didn't feel right because it felt like naming the baby entirely after herself, excluding Natsu. So they kept postponing the baby naming. At one point, Natsu just gave up and was like, why don't we just actually name her Baby? Like the girl from Dirty Dancing, sounds kinda cute. (Fiore has its own version of Dirty Dancing and Natsu kinda likes it idk lol) At this point, Lucy is so used to calling the girl Baby she's like, you know what let's do it
Pt. 3. So they were about to do it alright, name the baby Baby. But Natsu noticed Lucy was nervous, so to cheer her up, he started joking about how their marriage should have its own name too. Lucy was like, wut, that's silly, what does that even mean. And he was like, well we're like together in unity and everything so it'd be cool if our marriage had a name and it was a combination of our names. Like, Nashi? Or Luna? Sounds cool, it's not marriage, it's a Nashi!
Pt. 4. And in that moment, it finally hits Lucy, and she yells, Natsu that's IT! Nashi! Luna! Those are great names for the baby! Because they have something of BOTH of us! And it clicks for Natsu too, and he's like, boy I am a genius! But then they spend the next month arguing over whether it'll be Nashi or Luna. Even years later, the girl is still oftentimes referred to as Baby :) Both by her parents and the other guild members. She's Their Baby, even though it embarrasses her :D Thoughts??
That’s so cute!!! That they decide to name their child because of their names and want a mix of their marriage!!! and it’s cute how Natsu wanted to name their baby Stella. Also that they keep calling her baby because of the long time they couldn’t decide on her name.I love the headcanon about naming their child. I can totally see them arguing on the name of their kid lol
