Michael Roth announced as first annual recipient of “MacRoth Genius Grant”

THURSDAY OCTOBER 8TH - Wesleyan students were thrilled to hear that their president, Michael Roth ‘78, was announced as the recipient of the “MacRoth Genius Grant” award. The award, founded in 2015 by M.S. Roth, is awarded annually to a Connecticut-based liberal arts university president who “is a true role model of what a great human should be.” After reviewing a list of nominees, the decision committee—made up of all university presents located in Middletown, CT—decided that our very own Michael Roth best exemplifies theses values. While fulfilling their mandatory attendance of Roth’s acceptance speech, students noted that the president seemed “genuinely surprised” and “relieved” to receive this award. Said Roth, “I want to thank my parents, my family, and above all, the decision committee for choosing me. Lin Manuel-Miranda, who’s the most successful Wesleyan alumni now?”
