JoJo: Run out of thumbs?
The story of Johnny LaRue and how he became a frequent attendant of General Schmitz's camp.
Based on an old scary story with many different variants, but obviously made less scary because this is the Seuss universe.
Johnny, Where's My Liver? (The Genghis Kahn Schmitz/Whoville Edition) - Charlie_Choc_Fan - Multifandom [Archive of Our Own]
Some more characters from my Seussical universe whom I haven't gotten the chance to introduce yet!
White rabbit: Elijah Bounce. He's the Seussical version of the rabbit from The Big Brag. He's also Ted Wickersham's boyfriend. He's very proud of his hearing, and as such, was definitely convinced that the Whos weren't real when he first tried listening to the clover- not knowing, of course, that interplanetary communication is about more than ear power.
Brown bear with white flash on chest: Warren Ursino. He's the Seussical version of the bear from The Big Brag. He and Elijah are very close friends but are also known to argue a lot. Much like Elijah is proud of his hearing, Warren prides himself on his sense of smell.
Blue bird with pink beak and wings and long yellow hair: Hedwig MacVelvet. She's a new bird to the Jungle of Nool. She's actually based on a discontinued talking plush toy that in itself has designs like that of a bird seen in If I Ran the Zoo. Much like her plush self, she has tendencies to make up silly, nonsensical words, and enjoys calling herself the "weird word bird". Here are some photos and descriptions of the toy she's based on. One unique thing about her is that she has no tail at all- and she helps Gertrude feel confident whenever they're together because of that.
Boy with brown hair, yellow shirt and light blue pants: Johnny LaRue. Johnny is the son of Dr. Mary Lou LaRue and Joe (who I actually like to think took his wife's surname at marriage). He's actually the main character in an adaptation of an old horror story I made to make the story less… horrifying and more Seussian. He often runs errands for his parents, but he's a naughty little Who. He also loves music and aspires to one day be a professional Floo-Floober player.
Girl with blonde hair, blue cardigan and yellow overalls: Lindy LaRue (not to be confused with Jane Kangaroo's stuffed toy in Horton!, Lindy Laroo- different spelling). She's Johnny's little sister, only three years younger than him, and appears in the aforementioned story as well. She takes after her mother a lot and loves to read. When Jane found out that Lindy had such a similar name to her childhood stuffed toy, she was astounded.
Why Hasbro's New Dr. Seuss Games Are a Nostalgic Slam Dunk
If you spent any part of your childhood with your nose buried in a Dr. Seuss book, chances are those crazy characters and impossible rhymes are still rattling around in your head. So when I stumbled across Hasbro’s new lineup of Dr. Seuss-themed board games, my first thought was, how did nobody think of this sooner? I grew up in an era when board games were the entertainment. Before video games…
