anyway … music & movies:
i finally got around to listening to a playlist of the cramps recommendations summer made aaages ago and they were pretty good … there were only a few off each album cuz frankly i dont like them Enough to listen to their whole discography but a date with elvis & stay sick! remain my favs (4 u specifically sunny i think you’d enjoy thosw but also their earlier stuff 2)
spent some time listening 2 the backstreet abortions last week cuz theyve got a gig in a month or so that i want to go to but idk jow im gunna get in yet LMAO . its good stuff ive been listening to too much experimental recently its nice 2 get back to punk . theyre not exactly local but more than other stuff i listen to LOL
aand i caught up on alfreda’s new singles . shes the coolest everrr & funny & honestly her music isn’t the sort of stuff i listen to any more but its so much fun you have to love it . she’s defo on my list of people i wanna see live when ive got the means to travel more . marina diamandis daughter 2 me
movie wise i gave in and watched rebecca (1940) altho i wanted to read the book first . it was good ive been neglecting films pre-1960 but god i love strange & sinister women .
& also mother, i am suffocating. this is my last film about you. (2019) which was so heartbreaking and such a beautiful use of film as a medium .
die my love (2025) gets an honourable mention cuz i watched it last week but that was pretty great too . lynne ramsay is such an incredibly compelling director
bonus tv mention is hacks because i’ve been watching it nonstop . big fan of problematic women & age gap yuri & hannah einbinder
