so they're all bestfriends from like ages 5 to 8 theyre like glue inseparable yk until stephs dad has enough and orders steph to cut them off bc they arent good for his image. and she hides it from them and quietly cuts them offf, and she thinks shes sparing them yk it better this way. they do not think this at all. they are 8 years old.
so we cut to the start off npmd. ruth and richie have moved on and are best friends with pete!!! steph is popular yk. and so basically the musical kinda progresses but you have this plot point reworked and rewritten to it i think its really neat idk.
